Every nation has a middle name. That middle name is their nation name. However, Alfred has an F instead of an A.
This is because he doesn't use any version of USA as his middle name. He uses a name suggested after the Revolution: Fredonia.
This was suggested because America isn't all of America, plus the Brits used America and American as derogatory names back in the day.
Fredonia clearly isn't the name of the US, but Alfred does find it a bit unfair to his colonial siblings/cousins that he took the name of two continents.
