i will not go where fools went:
palaces of frozen warmth that melt
snow and freeze time, where silence is
beautiful and you live in the walls.
i will not go where fools went:
a ballroom-turned-ocean on the ceiling, where sirens
hum a love song upside down on the water's surface
as I sit on the chandelier that sprouts from the dance floor.
i will not watch exotic animals that this Earth
has never seen float around whilst you kiss her; i will not revel
in the lavish jewels of your blue palace and
fall in love with its walls and the upside-down.
i will not look into your eyes and let them
magnetize my compass and open their palace doors
to me so that I can fall in love with you all over again,
from one look at your wonderful eyes.
