Chapter 2: Someone for You to Meet

Ravens P.O.V

Over the days that followed, I was taken back too the what was actually the pack house. Most of my wounds had healed now thanks to one of the pack doctors. As soon as I was strong enough, the prince, who hadn't left me side once, led me to a relaxed styled room. I was sat down on the couch across from him and trust me, I had questions.

 "Now, are sure you don't know what a mate is?" The prince asked, putting his hands together as he sat down.

"Are you calling me a fucking liar?" I said, standing up. Only a little bit irritated. Two guards grabbed my arms and I growled at them in response. 

"Don't fucking touch me." I sat down and looked back at the prince, glaring at him.

"I'm not saying that you're a liar, I just wanted to be sure... I'm Austin." he said, moving his hand out, expecting me to shake it. I just looked at it and then back at him.

"Okay..." He said, taking his hand back, "So I'll get to the point then. A mate is someone your destined for... The person you hold most precious; your other half... The person you'll die for if need be. Every species has one, wether they can tell who their mate is or not." he said looking me in the eye, not submitting to the glare I was giving him.

"We," he continued, "Are mates... You, being my mate means that you're... You're going to be queen one day, just like my mother is at the moment." And with that, my whole world froze.

I can't be queen, I don't want to be queen... To many fucking rules. I have to much red in my past...

Unknowingly, I growled. I felt my anger suddenly boiling, I didn't want to be queen! I didn't exactly feel proud of what I do now but being queen with my history isn't a good mix at all. I stood up and turned around so he couldn't see me, my eyes...

"Is there a problem?" He asked, I could tell he was worried, but what for, I have no clue. Although his stupid question made me angrier. Okay, I have lost it, I thought to myself. 

"There had to be a fucking problem," I growled more so talking to myself than him. I could feel my devil pushing me to shift.

"There just had to be this big fucking problem... What will Caspian do?" I growled knowing exactly what he would do... He will kill me, since I would be no longer needed.

"Don't swear and who is this Caspian guy...?" Austin growled, how dare he tell me what to do! I turned around and growled as my devil made me shift into my black wolf. The guards were basically shaking there pants off. I saw Austin's shocked face as I bared my teeth and growled, running out of the room.

Okay that was an easy escape. I ran straight into the forest, I could hear the footprints of Austin's wolf and many others following. Ha, this is going to be fun. I howled and ran even faster, loving the wind against my fur. Adrenalin, pumping through my veins.

I could hear the small pack of wolfs, chasing me, getting closer. I slowed down to let them catch up. I looked back and saw Austin, he was closest to me, his wolf was amazing, almost pure white with one ear coloured black... Kind of like me, although I have a white patch on my eye.

I came to a ravine and stopped, looking down at the bottom. Pretty long way down... Pretty far jump too... As I observed the jump, I heard growling coming from behind me. I smirked but it probably looked pretty weird in wolf form.

"Why the hell did you run?" I heard Austin ask, I shifted into human form and rolled my eyes at his question. 

"Can you please undo this mate thing? I have something I need to do." I said, trying to answer his question while not giving details. I heard growls from the wolfs surrounding us.

"What... Why?" He asked, he looked hurt, my heart felt heavy as I looked at him. But I shook the feeling away.

"It's not for you to know, it'll only put your whole kingdom in danger." I said to him. Wow, I sound so girly. Yuck! He growled and started walking towards me.

"stay back!" I growled, but he kept walking. I snarled at him and he still kept walking. I turned around to face the ravine and looked at the gap between the two edges. Maybe, I could jump that far... I felt my teeth and ears grow pointy, my nails grow sharp and my eyes turn ember.

"I have to go." I said, my voice was a mix of my devils voice and mine. Then... I jumped towards the other side. I landed sort of.. I hit the ground and skidded along the ground, making my arm look red raw, behind me looked like a dense forest, my scent would be easily masked when I enter here.

"Mate?" Austin called. My heart started beating fast, I felt like I should go back... I turned around and looked back.

"Please, go back to him.." my wolf pleaded.

"I can't and you know why." I told her, not completely understanding why she wanted to go back. 

"then just give him something of ours." she whined. I felt her sorrow through our bond.I sighed and frowned.

"My names Raven, my wolf wants me to turn back but I can't.. Maybe we'll meet again my prince.." I told him, "don't try find me." 

And with that, I turned around and left. I ran away from him, my heart breaking at the decision I made. I've never felt this way before. I heard him howl behind me in the far distance. It was a long call... A call for his mate to come back... But I couldn't. I kept running and running until I couldn't anymore. I stopped and laid under a tree in my wolf form. Closing my eyes and slowly dozing off to sleep.

Before I could fully go to sleep, I felt something shoot into my side, I jumped up and growled. I saw Caspian emerge from a bush with other demons following behind him.

"It's alright Raven, I have someone I want you to meet." I heard Caspian's voice as I drifted off into a dreamless sleep.
