The wolf snarls at the man as he approaches his cage.
The man is withered, old as sin itself but he holds control over the vicious wolf he has captured in his cage. The wolf, with its bright blue eyes and salt and pepper coat was a lucky find for him. He usually has to trade to find a good fighting dog for his matches but he caught this one in one of his bear traps.
The silver had been perfect but him lining the sharp edges with wolfsbane was brilliant! He couldn't believe it when he had heard one of them snap and the yelp of pain. After years and years of getting the shit end of life's stick he finally got a break. He couldn't have been more excited to find one strong enough to fight in the underground battles and perhaps even win.
Kneeling before the converted chicken coop the man ignores the wolf's snarling and groans at the aches in his old bones. Using his nimble fingers he picks up the raw beef cubes and begins shoving them in through the silver chain link covering the front of the cage. It's what keeps the wolf in its place and the man with his head still attached to his shoulders.
The wolf snarls at the man again and jumps towards him putting his muzzle against the silver making it burn. The wolf yelps and whines as it retracts but it's eyes tell the man that he has every intention of killing him if he ever breaks free. The man, for his part doesn't doubt this.
He's seen the destruction a wolf can do.
Especially one that is half man.

Intrigued?
This is my newest Werewolf story since 'Ghost Runner' is ending {sad face} but never fear! Amber is here to make all your wolf withdrawls disappear! First chapter should be up as soon as I finish the second to last chapter of 'Ghost Runner'. If you expecting something as sweet as that story...well i'm sorry but my main female character is a bit...rougher around the edges.
