[P.O.V = Alexander]
I turned around and my eyes met Emma's. I let out a growl and grabbed Emma's throat, forcefully dragging her by it down the hallway. I didn't say a word to her as I dragged her to the dining hall, knowing that everyone was still there.
I kicked the door of the dining hall open, everyone jumping and looking at me. I heard gasps and murmurs as some of the females stood, their eyes never leaving us. I looked Emma in eyes as she stood in front of me, my hand still wrapped around her neck.
Without speaking or making any sort of announcement, I began to wrap my hand tighter around her neck, digging my nails in and listening to her scream and watching her body struggle to breath. I used my strength to dig my nails deeply into her windpipe, her black blood running down her chest. She clawed at my arm and her body twitched, her screams mixing with other screams from around the room.
Emma weakly tried to speak, her pet's name in what she was saying. I made eye contact with her pet from across the room. She was sitting at the table, her green eyes glossy from slight tears. Although she was crying, there was no fear in her eyes. I looked back to Emma, who's eyes were filled with anger and fear.
"Why in the living hell would she even think about saving you, Emma? All you've done to her is abuse her. She owes nothing to you." I spoke in a low and calm tone, my body filling with even more rage than before.
Lilly, Emma's pet, rose to her feet and spoke in hushed tone. "Queen Alexander is right, Emma. I do love you, but I cannot handle this anymore."
Emma tried to scream and yell at Lilly, but I tightened my grip on her neck before she could. I took away her airway, ripping her throat open with my claw-like nails. Blood poured out of her neck, completely covering her front and mine. I could feel the anger in me melting as I watched Emma's now lifeless body fall to the ground, covered in and surrounded in her own blood.
Complete silence and horror took over everyone in the room. I glanced up, staring at everyone as they stared at me. I cleared my throat and was about to speak, but I was cut off by a high-pitched, bone shattering scream. It threw me off balance as I covered my ears and turned around to see Alice. She stood in the doorway, screaming and crying while looking at Emma's body.
Shock hit me like a wave as I watched Alive breakdown. She was on her knees now, her hands shaking rapidly as they covered her face. I wanted to run over to her and console her, but I couldn't move from my position.
"Queen Alexander, what have you done?"
"What in the bloody hell is the matter with you?"
"Why would you do this to Lilly?"
More and more voices filled the room, but I couldn't understand them. I watched as Lilly made her way over to Alice, picking her off the floor and slowly moving her out of the view of everyone else, including me.[P.O.V = Lilly]
I held Alice closely to me, trying to stop her shaking body. I rocked back and forth with her in my arms, trying to soothe her and make her feel safe. I held back my tears as I played with Alice's hair. My thoughts were running wild. I felt like breaking down myself, but Alice needed me. I listened to Alice sob, knowing that she was in the same amount of pain as me or even more.
We stayed in the hallway for what felt like forever, waiting for the tension and horror to leave us. Alice slowly began to stop crying, her body no longer shaking.
"Alice, are you alright?" I asked in a hushed voice, looking at her puffy and red eyes. Her cheeks were stained with tears and her bottom lip was quivering. She was about to answer, but screamed and stood up quickly instead. I looked behind me to see Queen Alexander, still soaked in fresh blood.
"Alexander! This is not the time," I spoke quickly and rose to my feet, almost tripping. "Please, just go away! I will deal with this."
"Who do you think you are speaking to me like this?" Alexander roared as she made her way over to me. Alice was now long gone down the hallway, her feet pounding the ground.
"I don't know what has gotten into you lately, but you need to settle down. What was that show you just pulled? Do you not realize that you've now traumatized Alice?" I hissed at her, looking her in the eye and straightening my back. "Take a step back and think about what you've done. I'm going to go and deal with Alice."
I left without listening to her response, running as fast as I could mange after Alice. I almost tripped again while stopping, hearing Alice's cry in a maid's bedroom. I quickly entered, quietly shutting the door and locking it behind me.
I slowly made my way over to Alice, kneeling beside her. I once again wrapped my arms around her, holding her tightly to me. "Alice, I know this is hard, but I need you to work with me, okai?"
Alice mustered a nod as she looked up at me, her puffy eyes looking into mine. I spoke quietly to her. "Let's get you calmed down. How about a bath and some water - maybe food if you're hungry?"After Alice had bathed and managed to eat, we sat on the maid's bed. Alice was rested against my side, her body covered by the heavy blanket. She was sipping on water and holding the cup almost too tightly.
"Are you feeling better? Be truthful, dear." I looked down at her and studied her face as she answered me.
"I can't get the image out of my head.." She spoke in a very quiet voice. Her voice was shaky and rasp. Her eyes met mine again and started to fill with tears once more.
"I know this is hard. I've seen it happen many of times before and I've had the same reaction," I choked out. "I just lost my mate, Alice. But, you have yours still. Alexander can be a rough person to deal with at times and I know this. I've followed her around for years and lived under her rule for just as long. If you look deeply into her, you'll see that she's not like this. She didn't want to do this, but even I know it was for the better. She's much greater than you think. But, don't rush into things. You need time to think and heal. I'll be by your side."_______
