Don't tell me to act,
for i don't know how
That, i wasn't taught
I was taught to grow
I was taught to glowIn the fertile lands of Africa,
There was where i was taught.
To grow, to glow,
And to remember my people
Those who held me highBut you come and tell me
To act like i did not see
The blood of my people
Tears of my familyHow can i act like i did not see
Children laying, mothers crying
How can i act like i did not see
Smiles fading, hopes breakingEnough acting
and ignoring the truth
Brother come hold me
let's show them we are closeMay be then their brain will rewind
Rewind to go back and see
Rewind to go back and thinkLet's ask him, the Kilimanjaro
He who stayed quiet
and watched as it happened
He who stayed quiet
Like nothing happened
What would he like to tell us,
his people
To unite or to dribble?Stop wandering and grab my hand
Let's show them our love
still didn't end
Let's prove our words,
Are better said
Let's hold one another
When the gates are closed
Let's stop the act and tell the untoldUntold,
Those untold stories of our people
Our people
whom they stepped all over
Let's stand together
And complete their dreams
The dreams they saw
in the darkest nights
Those hopes they had
Of ending the nightmaresSo what do u say brother?
Let's make them all come true
Let's end all the trouble
they had had to go through
Let's stop acting numb for the truth coming through
