Belle started to notice that the town was talking again, only thins time, it was about Gaston.
"Did you hear? He's reading!"
"I know, he even used a unknown word, just like Belle!"
"Soon, this whole town will be reading." Were just some of the whispers. Belle knew she should bring it up to Gaston, but how or when? When she came back home, she saw the look on Gaston's face and knew she didn't have to bring it up.
"Belle, did you hear what they are saying about me?" Gaston asked. Belle nodded.
"Yes I have. I'm sorry Gaston." Belle said. Gaston looked mad and worried as he paced around the room. Belle put her new book down and walked up to him.
"Gaston, calm down. It's not that bad." Belle said. Gaston looked at her, and angry look on his face.
"Not bad? Not bad! Belle this town looks up to me! I'm the best hunter and dart player and fighter yet now they are saying I'm like you!" He yelled but immediately regretted it. Belle had tears in her eyes.
"Belle, I..." He started but stopped at the sight of her. Belles tears now rolled down her cheeks.
"Just go." She said. Gaston didn't move.
"Belle, please. I'm sorry." He said. She looked at him and walked over to the door, opening it.
"Just go. I need to think." She said. Gaston walked out the door but turned and looked at her before she closed it.
"Think about what?" He asked. Belle looked at him in the eyes.
"If it was a good idea to date you or not." Belle said and closed the door.
Gaston's heart sank.
