Heyo! I dedicate this chapter to @Area__51 for asking for more for Hajime and Chiaki. I love this pairing in the original game and why not give the betas some love as well. It may not be sappy or fluffy but I would like to think of it as one of those free time events/character development.
Anyways, please enjoy and have a good day.

That night, while their classmates went inside their cabins for the night, Hajime escorted Chiaki to hers, walking side by side. With the sun setting behind them, their shadows started to fade away in front of them. Chiaki took a glance at Hajime, looking straight forward with his hands in his pockets. His hair was lightly touching his pale skin and his gorgeous features...'Stop it, Chiaki!' She shook her head and looked away, her cheeks blushing red. 'I can't like him!' Remembering what Nagito had told her, she regained her composure.
"Uh, Chiaki?" Hajime tapped her shoulder to get her attention. "I am really glad that you decided to come down tonight."
Chiaki shrugged. "Yeah, well...I had nothing better to do. Besides Nagito was pretty much fed up with the cafe today and wanted to get back to his cabin."
Hajime chuckled. "He is a stubborn one, isn't he? He really needs to relax."
Chiaki stopped walking, shocked by what he said. "What are you talking about?"
"I am just saying, we all do. I mean, that bear can't control what we do. We don't have to kill anyone if we don't have to."
Chiaki could feel anger boiling in her chest, despite giving Hajime a blank stare. She took a deep breath before walking up to her cabin without looking at the boy.
"You don't know anything, Hajime. You can't trust anybody. This isn't fun and games!" She then slammed the door just as he got too close. Locking it, she could hear him knocking at the door. Not a few minutes later, he gave up and went home. Probably because Monokuma will punish him if he didn't or he got bored.
No matter the reason, Chiaki pushed herself off the door and got ready for bed. 'I should've known he was going to do that...' She thought as she crawled into the covers. 'Trying to get ahead and catch you off guard.' She sighed as she closed her eyes into a peaceful sleep.
The next morning, she could hear the curfew alarm blaring meaning it was morning. She didn't feel like getting up, out of bed so she grabbed her handheld game and turned it on.
It may have felt like minutes to her, but by the time she decided to turn it off, two hours had gone by: 9am. Her stomach growled when she looked at the clock. Sighing, she got out of her warm bed and got ready.
As she entered the Hotel Restaurant for their morning meeting, Hajime was in the lobby, waiting for her.
"Good morning. You are the last person I expected to show up late." He smiled casually, but his tone of voice sounded hurt. Chiaki couldn't care less and ignored him as she walked past him.
"Hang on a minute!" Hajime called out as he grabbed her wrist. She didn't look at him as she struggled to get her arm free. "I just want to talk! I don't know what I did to make you mad at me."
"You wanna know?" Chiaki growled. "How about your lack of conscious? The fact that you act like the big hero while manipulating people to do what you tell them to? You are no hero. You are nothing more than a-"
Before she could finish her sentence, he pulled her towards him and he quickly captured her lips with his. Chiaki tried to struggle out but Hajime was much stronger. He finally let go when air was needed. She could see tear stains on his cheeks, much to her surprise.
"I know you hate me right now but you need to understand. All those things you said...they are not true." Hajime sighed while wiping the tears. "I am sorry that you thought that way about me. What can I do? Having no talent...makes me feel so useless."
Chiaki stood there, mind all muddled up with mixed feelings. "I don't understand."
"Playing the 'hero' was just a way to make feel like I belong. In the end, it just makes me feel miserable knowing it isn't the real me."
"How do I know that isn't the real you?" Chiaki argued back. "You act so cool in front of me and Nagito yesterday."
He chuckled. "That? I was just trying to piss him off. Besides, you and I both know that this is who I am: a scared kid with no talent. You are not stupid, Chiaki."
The air got tense and you could hear a pin drop as the two of them stood in front of each other in silence. It felt like an eternity until Chiaki's stomach growled again.
"Sorry..." She whispered.
"No, I am. I don't want you to think of me as the bad guy." Hajime replied, placing a hand on her shoulder.
"I don't, but I need time to think things through."
"Of course."
As she walked off, she felt a huge weight lifted off her shoulders, but she knew that she still needed convincing. Again, they have time for now.
