"Jax, can you please get the boys in the car?" You called out from the bedroom as you finished packing the diaper bag.

"Yeah babe!"

You smiled to yourself when you heard the giggles from your boys filling the hallway. Finally a day without the MC, without club business, and without Queen Gemma.

Jax had been promising this little family outing for weeks now, and with all the heat that the club has been getting, this was really needed now more than ever. Everything was packed up and ready to go, and as you made your way to the front door, turning to scan over the house once more, you tried not to grin too hard. An afternoon at the park never sounded so damn magical.

-

"Abel sweetheart, stay where mommy and daddy can see you!" You exclaimed before his little legs could take him too far out into the miniature playground.

"Oh he'll be fine, he's just excited," Jax tried to reassure you with a planted kiss on your head.

With the way he slightly towered over you, you were forced to look up when you decided to reply to his little reassurance with a raised brow, "Okay then super dad, you keep an eye on him while I take Thomas to the swings," you winked up at him before walking off.

As a smirk formed on his lips, Jax turned to watch you stroll off with a beautiful and healthy baby boy on your hip, he realized that it was moments like these, that reminded him exactly how incredibly deep he was in love with you and his little family. This was the type of happiness that the club would never be able to bring him...and that scared him just a bit.

Glancing over to the mini playground, he grinned at Abel going down the big curly slide,

"Good job buddy!"

Finding a nearby picnic table, Jax was relieved to finally be able to set down the overly stuffed diaper bag and travel cooler, "Jesus christ what is she packing for, armageddon?"

Tempted to search his pockets for his phone, maybe check for an update from the guys, Jax scanned over the swing sets for you and the littlest one, making sure you were looking over his direction just in case he did decide to make a phone call or two. But as he watched the two of you laughing, out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a lingering shadow.

If Jax would have blinked, he would have never noticed how intensely the now suspicious man was staring at his wife and son, or how quickly the man looked away when he noticed that Jax may have taken notice of him, and how anxious he was to retreat after the said moment.

Mentally Jax made a note to keep his eyes out for the random dude in the navy jacket, he was at a children's playground, with no signs of actually having any kids here of his own, this could only mean one thing.

-

After a messy picnic, you were cleaning up a sticky watermelon covered Thomas, while Jax was off throwing away the trash, and Abel running off towards the swing sets.

Being that the trashcan was mid way from the picnic table to the swing set, the walk over took about five seconds, and after tossing the trash, he felt a vibration in his pocket.

This can't be good, he thought to himself, the guys knew that he was out with his family, and to only contact him in the event of an emergency.

"Hello?" He answered to the unknown number.

"Mr. Teller," Damon Pope greeted, "It's been a while."

Jax was fairly surprised to hear from this man, at a number he never gave him, on this day, of all others.

"Pope, how'd you get this number?"

"What, you think I can't get a hold of you when I need to?"

It almost sounded as if Damon was attempting to toy with Jax, which he did not like that one bit.

"What do you want Damon?" Jax glanced around the park, making sure you were still at the table, and Abel at the swings.

"'I haven't heard from you in a couple weeks Teller and I'm starting to think you may be having cold feet concerning your end of our deal-"

"I don't, you'll hear from me when the time is right-"

"I do hope that you are being honest with me Jackson, I would really hate to drag your beautiful family into all this mess..."

Jax's thoughts surged like strike of lightening.

"Your wife is very beautiful...and two boys huh? I hear they take strongly after you-"

Jax instantly began to search the park for the suspicious guy from early, there was a reason he was there, and Jax now believes he knows why. Pope was continuing with his one sided conversation, all while Jax was charging towards the swing sets, finding the guy in the exact same spot as before. Only this time, he was eyeing Abel too closely to even notice Jax getting closer.

"Threaten, or come near my family again, and I'll send you your men in a body bag," he slammed the phone shut, running up for the momentum, and clocking the guy square in the jaw, causing him to immediately fall out.

Jax knew exactly where to hit an unsuspecting man to make sure he wouldn't be getting up any time soon. Hurriedly, he grabbed a preoccupied Abel, and rushed over back to you and Thomas.

"There are my two tough men," you cooed over to them, making Thomas and Abel giggle, "where were you?"

"Oh, just a-" Jax quickly smiled, "oh Abel just wanted to swing a little bit- Let's get out of here and get some ice cream."
