Me: Lmao, I promise this next update won't take that long, y'all... I promise—
Also me, a year and something months later: Remember Breath of the Wild?
So, so sorry guys... I have gotten literally more requests than my will to live to update this book, and I always say I will, but I never do... so here it is! With this whole pandemic going on, I have no excuse. I love you all and I am so sorry... I just lost motivation, but I bought Age of Calamity, so I hope it strikes inspiration.
———— ————What King Dorephan told you had been nothing short of legendary. You walked for miles back to the castle, your thoughts unintentionally somewhere else along the majority of the trip. Walking behind your two friends, they understood your position and just let you be.
Your head spun and eventually became dizzy while wandering into space. Heaving yourself from the endless void, it seemed, Zelda's voice was the first thing that struck your ears.
"Just a bit longer and we'll be back at the castle." She informed, scrolling through some information on the Shiekah Slate she mentioned before, briefly. "We can borrow some of the horses to make our trip into the mountains easier, as well as bundle up in some warmer clothes. As we know, Hebra isn't exactly the most warm of the regions." Laughing a bit at the end, it was rather nice to hear someone with an adamant plan.
Finally engaging in the conversation and taking a standing next to Link as you walked, you bobbed your head. "Correct me if I'm wrong, but... Hebra's the only place with, like... actual snow, right?" For some reason your recollection of the place was a bit hazy; honestly, it was the same for even when you went to the domain, anything past Central Hyrule almost completely escaped you.
"There is one mountain in Lanayru that has snow, but most other places other than Hebra get reoccurring snowfall." The Princess implied, basically proving your point.
Before anyone else could speak, the castle's entryway was upon the three of you, it's massive metal gates opening up and allowing you to enter the plaza. Zelda lead the way to the private stables, her strides confident, as if she had much practice. "Everyone can pick out a horse to ride for the trip, and I will inform Father of our borrowings. Link, would you mind helping out (Y/n) get acquainted?" The blonde scholar requested as she jogged off towards the castle's main gates.
The stoic boy turned to you with a mild expression of empathy, as if telling you to follow him while he waved a hand. Doing so, he lead you into the actual building where the horses were boarded, and allowed you to look them all over. He introduced you to a few of them, all in a row along the right stone wall. The first one was what you assumed as one of the "royal steeds," considering his white coat as well as the elegant purple saddle and bridle decorated with that same triangle symbol.
The Triforce.
Your head rang as the name came to you. But you knew that, didn't you? Why have it introduced to you as if you hadn't known?
Shaking your head, you turned to face the lineup of more "common" horses. The first, was an all brown steed with a black mane, snout and hooves and soft onyx eyes. Definitely a gentle horse, you could tell, reaching a hand out to rub between her eyes. Looking at the label on the door, it mentioned that her name was Brownie; she was very kind and easily bonded well with any rider. She seemed a nice fit, since you couldn't remember the last time you rode a horse, but you wanted to give a glance to the other ones a chance before you decided.
Next in line, was a male horse with a white and black dotted coat and silk black mane cut into a mohawk of sorts, his piercing green eyes staring into your own. His nose was pinker, and he had a bit more of a "spunk" to him, as you'd say. His name was Oreo, a cute name for such a strong horse, you thought. Nonetheless, reading his description, he sounded faster than Brownie, but couldn't run quite as long. Not that it mattered, but it was brought up.
