NATHAN TURNER WAS WHAT PEOPLE WOULD CALL THE epitome of strong, even when he didn't thank himself. No matter what the situation was, he would always stay calm, collected and curious. Even at the age of nine, when his father left them claiming that he wasn't ready for a family, his mother struggled to keep herself together. All Nathan asked looking curiously at his mother was "he's not coming back, is he?" His voice was barely above a whisper.
His family or what was left of it had always lived in Forks. They lived in the house right beside Amelia's childhood friend Charlie Swan. Unfortunately, Nathan had never really had the chance to make many friends, due to his mother home-schooling him. Not that he felt like he needed any, he was more of an "I hate everyone don't talk to me" kind of guy. The one friend he did remember having was the infamous Bella swan who no one had seen since she was a child.
He tended to keep his circle small, he didn't like to get close to people in general if he didn't have to, and he didn't want any other close relationships, especially romantic relationships. After his father left them, Nathan had to watch his mother suffer through tremendous pain, heartbreak and loss. So Nathan made a promise to himself that he would never fall in love. In fear of getting hurt like his mother had.
Nathan had no clue what the future held for him, especially now that his mother was finally letting him go to high school.

JASPER HALE HAD STRUGGLED THROUGH MOST OF HIS VAMPIRIC LIFE, his sense of control had been stripped from him by the one thing he hated blood. Having to go to school and be around humans was a difficult task, the sound of beating hearts and the sweet smell it blood followed him all day every day.
He was thankful to have Alice, his best friend and confidant. In even his darkest of moments she was there to pull him back, to let him know that he was stronger than his cravings, that he wouldn't hurt anyone. He couldn't imagine his immortal life without her, he couldn't imagine his life without any of his covens but Alice held a special place in his heart. How could she not? After all, she was the one who had found him. The one who introduced him to the vegetarian lifestyle and showed him there was a different way.
When she had told him that something exciting was about to happen, he knew she was hinting at something about him. Although he had no clue what she could be talking about, he was nervous. He was hoping that whatever vision Alice had would change, that he wouldn't have to deal with it. A thought he would later come to regret, especially with how special Nathaniel Turner would be to him.
