her coffee was cold.
pine and cigarette smoke
lingered in her bedroom.
she missed him, but she knew she shouldn't.
there was a rock in her stomach.
like a paperweight, it held her down
and pulled her through the floor.
into the ground, never to be seen again.
she floated through the earth
catching snippets of the world
around her. dirt filled her nose.
she never thought the earth would be so warm.
mother nature wrapped her arms
around her and filled her head
with images of him. she missed
him, but unlike the rock in her stomach, he was gone.
