Before all that is now, the Earth was flat and plain. She was nothing but stone. She never felt alone though, the Sun was always shining on her, warming her surface and making her smile. One day the Sun burned low so the Earth asked him what was wrong. "You're the only being I know. I feel as though life is not life at all."

The Earth felt sad, she loves the Sun and wanted him to be happy. So she grabbed handfuls of her stone and molded them together. She called her stone child the Moon and placed her into the sky. "Thank you for bringing this child into the world!" he declared, "I will keep her warm and happy."

The Moon loved both the Earth and the Sun. She circled her mother and sometimes visited the Sun, this event is known as an eclipse. During her first eclipse, she casted a shadow over the Earth. The Earth became cold and chilled, so she grabbed more handfuls of her stone and crumbled it all into dirt. She covered herself with all the dirt, giving her a layer of warmth. Although she was warm, she felt sad, lonely.

The Earth cried to herself while her daughter was with the Sun. She cried so much that she filled the dents where she removed her stone. She cried out of many different parts of her surface and created streams and rivers that flowed to fill the dents and created oceans. Her tears watered the dirt, and from the dirt grew thick luscious grass. But still she sobbed.

Out of distress, she slammed her arms into her sides. Her pressure made valleys and pushed up mountains. Some of her tears evaporated and turned into clouds; being tears of the Earth's sadness, the clouds were too very emotional and sometimes cried. From the tears and grass grew more plants: bushes, trees, shrubs and flowers.

Finally, the Earth opened her eyes to see what her sadness had created. She was amazed and tried to create more people so she wouldn't be lonely anymore. She grabbed a flower bush and created many different fish from it's pedals. Then she grabbed a handful of fish and created dozens of birds. When the birds laid eggs, she cracked two and turned the yolks into deer, then she made bears, and many more mammals. And finally she took two more eggs and created a man and a woman.

After the Moon returned, man populated the Earth. One day there were more men than animals and they began treading the ground beneath their feet. The Earth felt overwhelmed but still loved her companions, so she created death and with death came the stillness of the Earth.

From that point on, all men must end and when they do, their spirit joins the rest and they flow through the air, around the Earth as endless whispering wind.
