"Oh, Dongmyeong, you scared me."

"Hey, hyung." Dongmyeong wipes his eyes and opens the fridge, pulling out Keonhee's leftover water bottle. He chugs the remainder, unfazed by its coldness, before letting out a sigh of content. "I just needed some water. By the way, thanks for leaving clothes out. Dongju hasn't changed yet, though, since he hasn't gotten up yet. He's been tired lately."

"Thank god!"

"What?"

"Sorry, I thought he was ignoring me for a minute. He hasn't been talking much to me since yesterday and I was worried I did something wrong. Glad to know he's just tired."

"Oh..." Dongmyeong's face saddens.

"What? What's wrong?"

"You don't know, do you?"

"Know what?"

Dongmyeong sighs, this time with disappointment, "He has been avoiding you."

"Why? What'd I do wrong?"

"I shouldn't be telling you this but, do you remember last night?"

"Yeah, he woke up for some milk and such."

"Yeah and..."

"And he told me about your owner...?"

Dongmyeong quirks a brow at him, "You're really clueless, aren't you? You almost kissed him!"

Geonhak flushes with embarrassment, "H-How'd you know that?" he stammers out.

"Dongju told me this morning when you left. He's really upset."

"But I-"

"He really likes you."

"How? We just met?"

"He feels some sort of connection with you. He told me that when he's with you, he feels safe. Like he's truly home. He was really hoping you'd make the first move cause he's shy."

"I didn't want to kiss him cause I didn't want to take advantage of him. He was hurt and I helped him; I didn't want him to feel pressured to like he owed me."

"Ok, what I'm about to say can not be repeated, but I trust you. Dongju's heart is very delicate. When he falls for someone, he falls hard and fast. This has happened before. You remember our owner right? And her granddaughter? Well, Dongju feel in love with the granddaughter. He opened his heart up to her and she attacked him when he was vulnerable. So now he's more cautious about opening up. But he wanted to take a chance on you. He trusted you, opened his heart again. But you hurt him too."

"I didn't mean to hurt him."

"I know, but to Dongju you broke his heart."

"What do I do?"

"You said you like him, right?"

"Y-Yeah." Geonhak shyly admits.

"Then tell him. That's all I can say."

"O-Ok," Geonhak says a little shocked. He never thought this would be the reason Dongju was ignoring him. He was considering Dongju was upset because he tried to kiss him, not because he didn't. Now he's got to apologize.

"I trust you'll fix this."

"I'll try."

Dongmyeong smiles, "That's all I ask for." He tosses his empty bottle into the recycling bin, "I'll be going now."

"Goodnight, kitty."

Dongmyeong giggles at the nickname, "Night hyung!"

"Alright, Geonhak, all you have to do is not fuck this up." Geonhak gives himself a pep talk while he's standing outside his apartment door. He's coming back from his shift at work and he's trying to mentally prepare himself for what's on the other side of the door. He had left the twins at home this time, as at this point they know their way around his apartment. But when he got to work, he'd gotten a call from Keonhee telling him that he was picking Dongmyeong up to go see a movie with him and Youngjo. It's a new sappy romance film, so Geonhak knew before Keonhee even told him that Dongju declined the offer to go. That means he was in the apartment...alone...Which also means it's time for Geonhak to confront him. Geonhak gathers all of his courage and opens his door. "I'm home!"

"Mhm." He hears a grunt answer him. Geonhak enters the apartment, closes the door, and toes off his shoes. He spots Dongju on the couch mindlessly watching cartoons.

"How have you been?" he asks. Anything to postpone the inevitable.

"Good. Keonhee dropped off some food when he picked Dongmyeong up, so I've already eaten."

"That's good..." Geonhak trails off. He hopes Dongju will ask how his day was, but he gets nothing. Geonhak decides it's time. No need to postpone it. He goes over to the couch and takes a seat next to Dongju. "I need to talk to you."

Dongju's eyes shift from the tv to Geonhak and he quirks his eyebrow, "Ok?" He shuts the tv off and turns to face Geonhak.

Geonhak takes a deep breath and begins, "I've noticed you've been avoiding me. Is something wrong?" He gets no response, "Please tell me if I did anything. I want to make it up to you." Again, only a stare. "Kitten, please..."

"I'm upset you didn't kiss me."

Geonhak visibly relaxes at the fact Dongju's finally talking, "I didn't want to force you to do anything you didn't want to."

"But I wanted you to."

"Yes, but there was no way of me knowing that." Dongju pouts. "I'm sorry. I really like you and I don't want to mess this up."

"I like you too." It's barely above a whisper, but Geonhak catches it. The plea in his voice, the fear. The fear of getting his heart broken again. But the sincere look in Dongju's eyes is what convinces Geonhak that it's ok. Geonhak reaches his hand forward to take Dongju's. There's a moment where Dongju freezes, but he allows Geonhak to link their fingers together. Geonhak loves the way Dongju's small and delicate fingers desperately grasp his. They sit in silence for a bit, just enjoying the feeling of the other's hand in theirs.

It's Dongju who makes the first move. He tugs on Geonhak's hand and pulls himself closer. Then, ever so shyly, he brushes his lips against Geonhak's cheek. It's a featherlight touch, to let Geonhak know that it's ok. Geonhak finally deems it safe to turn his head and press his lips to Dongju's. It's a gentle kiss, cautious cause he's scared of hurting Dongju again. But Dongju shows no signs of fear as he presses even closer into Geonhak's side and tilts his head to deepen the kiss. It's a few moments of frantic lips and hands until, eventually, Geonhak finds Dongju poised in his lap. His pupils are blown wide and his lips stained a deep red. He gives Geonhak a haughty look before delving down to drop open-mouthed kisses on his neck. Geonhak whines at the touch, surprised by Dongju's ability to shift from quiet and shy to confident and daring. He feels a hand snake under his shirt that clutches at his waist as Dongju's lips trail further down.

Geonhak yelps, "W-Wait!" Dongju stops his ministrations and pulls back to look at Geonhak. This time, he doesn't look hurt, but scared. Geonhak feels immediately guilty. "I-I don't think we should move this quickly." Dongju's look softens with understanding. "I don't want to fuck this up again."

"Ok," Dongju clambers off his lap and back to the seat next to him. He's still pressed against his side, but in a lot less suggestive manner. There's a pause before Dongju turns back to Geonhak with sparkling eyes, "Can we at least cuddle?"

"Of course, kitten."
