I stare up at my blatant mistake
Why didn't I listen?
They all warned me
My friends
My family
Even the stories I've read
They all warned me
How could I be so stupid?
My shaped limb drops my heavy tool to the cold, hard, stone floor
My food is gone and the groans above shout through my opaque ears
Why didn't I listen?
Why did I dig straight down?
