Kakizaki Memi [III]

"What are your plans now?" Neru asked Hirate as the three of them sat on the bench in the garden of the hospital

Shida looked at Hirate worriedly as Hirate doesn't look like she have any plans on replying to them.

"Techi?" Shida tried to call Hirate but was stopped when Hirate lift up her hand to stop her from talking

"Let me think" Hirate replied as she close her eyes

Neru and Shida decided to keep quiet and let Hirate think as they kept her company. They know there is alot of things on her mind right now and it's best to let her decide on what she wants to do and support on whatever decision she make.

"I'm breaking up with her" Hirate said suddenly as she open her eyes wide

"What?" Neru asked in shocked

"You are supposed to propose to her tomorrow, not break up with her!" Shida exclaimed

"Then what? Propose to her and let her know that i am dying?!" Hirate shouted back

"Techi..." Shida called out sadly

"You guys know it's already too late... What do you want me to do now? Make her suffer along with me?" Hirate said calmly as she look at the ground "Please... please help me make her hate me... it won't hurt so much when i am really gone" she continued as her tears fell

Just a week ago, Hirate went through all the planning for her to propose to Memi and everything was ready yesterday but god decided to play a prank on Hirate when she suddenly collapse in midst of the preparations. She was diagnosed with stage four lungs cancer, she thought that her entire life was a joke at what happened to her. When the doctor asked her about the symptoms, she realize that she have been having symptoms since a long time ago but didn't put much notice into it as she is asthmatic and is weak to the cold so she always thought it was because she didn't take good care of her health hence becoming like this

Both Memi and her knew each other since they were kids and Memi always have the tendency to cling onto her where ever they go but Hirate never once got tired about Memi. She know Memi truly cares about her and have always stayed with her even after the passing of her parents. She is determined to protect and stay with Memi for the rest of her life hence the preparations of the proposal. Neru is a close friend of both Memi and Hirate and have seen what both of them went through together and knew how strong their bond is with each other. Shida have always been the older sister figure to Hirate since she met her and was really happy when Hirate found someone that she is really devoted to and someone to stay with her for the rest of her life. 

"So... what's the plan tomorrow?" Neru asked again

"I need someone to help me, act like i cheated on her" Hirate said with not much emotion

"I can do it..." Neru replied

"No, I'll do it" Shida cut in "It would be too much for Memi if she found out her girlfriend and her bestfriend is cheating on her. Hirate would need you to help take care of Memi to" 

After hearing what Shida said, Hirate stood up "Let's go, I don't want to stay here any longer" she said and walked away before stopping "Take down the decorations, Neru please be with her tomorrow" and continued to walk away

The next day, Neru was told to bring Memi to the location where they are suppose to meet Hirate. Neru was having internal struggles as she know what is going to happen today will hurt both Hirate and Memi and the damage is going to be huge to both of them.

While they are on the way to the cafe that they are a suppose to meet in, Memi was really excited as she chat with Neru, guessing that Hirate is going to propose to her and their future without knowing what awaits her. Neru heart hurt looking at Memi as she know the smile on her face will be replaced by tears in just a while.
