Boy:
Why is it that every time we run into each other,
You stutter, I falter, can’t think of a word to utter?
Yet here you are, standing in front of me,
A rare exquisite beauty that only I can see.
Girl:
Why do you think that in those times we meet,
You retreat, I admit, you make my thoughts complete;
Yet I’m standing here, looking up to you,
A solid brick of wall that I can’t break through.
Boy:
Indeed I am, but allow me to say a few words,
I don’t care if you’d call them compliments or plain absurd;
For you’re the only star who shines the brightest,
The only one I see to make me forget about the rest.
Girl:
You flatter me with your kind words, dear sir,
Compliments or not, I don’t know what I’d prefer;
For you light something up inside of me,
Trapping my feelings that long to be free.
Boy:
Don’t you know that every time I see you,
You make me begin my day anew?
I don’t know what I feel, I still don’t understand,
But your eyes make me feel like I’m sinking down a quicksand.
Girl:
How in the world will I know for sure?
‘Cause I also feel the same way you endure;
Whereas your burning eyes freeze me to the spot,
Your mere presence ties my feelings to a knot.
Boy:
What say you? Shall we start something new?
It seems that the only person I can think of is you;
Can’t you see that I’m in love with thee?
Is it a yes or a no? Why don’t you tell me?
Girl:
My thoughts are a whirlwind that I have to ponder,
Is it truth that you speak from your mind, I wonder?
I believe I have made myself clear,
Come hither, and prove to me that your love is sincere.
