Workaholics always make their way back even when life knocks them down

As Maya predicted the Ambassador would not just talk to Director Vance, he wanted Director Gibbs in the room as well. So, they called her in. She did not go far, she sat in the break room for a total of twenty minutes before she was called. She walked up and into Director Vance's office.
"Ambassador Moore, it's a pleasure," Maya held out her hand and he shook it firmly and gave Vance a short look.
He skipped the pleasantries, "Director, my country was on the news this morning, and the only reason I found out was because I was watching. Why was my embassy not informed?"
"The news reported the murder of a decorated Marine, " Maya commented.
"Who was working with my government in the Gola National Forest."
"Training wildlife rangers, yes, but he had been killed her in D.C.," Maya paused, "Ambassador, forgive me, but your embassy was not very clear as to the nature of this meeting. You have information to help our case?"
"I do not."
"Then I am confused."
"About what?"
"About why you are angry with NCIS?" Maya asked him.
"The victim was found with animal skulls, huh?" the Ambassador makes a statement that sounds like a question.
"That was not reported in the news."
"You will keep me informed before anything is made public."
"Well...," Maya pauses, "I report to the Secretary of the Navy, but as a courtesy, Director Vance will be glad to keep you in the loop. Isn't that right, Director Vance?" Maya turned and asked him.
Vance nods and Maya could sense some tension directed at her but this is what he got for not letting her speak to the Ambassador orginally, "I will keep you updated."
"It is my duty to make sure my country and its people are fairly represented on the world stage," the Ambassador tells them.
"What exactly are you expecting?" Director Vance asks him.
"I won't take up anymore of your time. Directors," he nods and sees himself out.
Vance raises an eyebrow at Maya, "Really? I am going to keep him informed? Why not you?"
"I'm deactivated," Maya quoted him from earlier and walked out of his office without allowing him to get another word out. She went down the steps and saw Gibbs making his way toward the elevator and he was quickly followed by a blonde woman. Maya presumed it was the ranger that found the body though she would later come to realize that she was part of the park police.

"This is what you wouldn't say?" Maya asked in disbelief and annoyance, "what you thought this case was leading to." Maya was in Director Vance's office with him and the Ambassador looking at the flatscreen that held a picture of bushmeat, a meat that is illegal in the US and sold on the black market, found in a ranger shack in the forest perserve. The shack was not in use for years, but when Gibbs went to go check it out with the forest police, they found a new lock on the plae and the stench of a rotting body, but instead what they found was bodies..of animals.
"My apologies, directors. It is both a source of great pride and embarrasment," the Ambassador explained to both parties.
"Have a seat," Director Vance suggested and the three of them sat together at the large table in Vance's office.
