*A/N: This is my entry for Weekly Wattpad Contest #45 by contests*

Prompt: In as few words as possible, describe a complicated and severely complex world struggle.

One by one, they arrived.

Postcards.

No, not postcards of pretty skylines and historical buildings that our mothers would send back in the day. Postcards of woolly mammoths, of dodos, of Tasmanian tigers, of black rhinoceroses, of white rhinoceroses, of elephants, of leopards, of gorillas, of orangutans. And now, postcards of sea turtles.

Postcards from cardboard from wood from trees. Delivered in bulk, covered by plastic. Customer after customer will be coming in store to purchase these goods. So protect the goods. Only the goods. They help us stay in business. They are the reason why our zoos are doing good. Quick! Before they are all gone!

At the cost of what?

2.50€ each. 2.50€ without the stamp. 1€ extra with the stamp. By air or sea. Then by truck.

Just that for a snapshot of what once was: out of sight, out of mind. And soon... out of breath.
