Fresh Start

Steve, Bucky, and Ramona was limping out the compound when the saw they the prince waiting for them, Ramona growled at the shadow man with her fur puffed out, "Whoa, calm down, i'm only here to talk." T'Challa said with his hand out as a surrender, Steve and Bucky look at the prince with shock expressions, "What do you want?" Steve ask holding Bucky up who was watching the prince with caution. "I just wanted to say i'm sorry, I let vengeance take over, I almost killed an innocence man, Barnes i'm deeply sorry please let me take you to my home where we can help you." T'Challa said. Ramona was quiet down but was still staring down the shadow man standing in front of Steve and Bucky, "I don't know what to say, why help us." Steve wonder walking Bucky over to the prince jet spotting Zemo tied up and knocked out. "Because I owe you that much, my actions are inexcusable. Plus I want your dog to stop plotting to kill me." T'Challa said with a smile looking down at the dog that was smelling Zemo over. "It may take a while." Steve said putting down Bucky on a seat. Bucky still didn't say anything, looking at Zemo instead wanting to understand how this man was willing to put all of them through this. "What happen with him?" Bucky asked. T'Challa told them everything that Zemo said and his motive behind his action. Bucky and Steve listen intensely at what the prince was telling them, feeling a small sympathy towards Zemo but hardly enough to forgive him. "I'm going to drop him off at the government doorstep, then we can go to my home." T'Challa said getting ready to drop Zemo off.

Bucky and Steve watch as T'Challa put the jet in stealth mode grabbing Zemo and handing him over to the C.I.A. Ramona was laying by the men feet keeping watch at the door that T'Challa left out of smelling his scent. "How are you feeling Buck?" Steve asked petting Ramona on her head, "Better but still feeling like I don't deserve this." Bucky said looking at his friend who was beat up along with Ramona. "I got both of you hurt, you did all this for me Steve, and now T'Challa wants to help, it's all so overwhelming." Bucky said looking down at his missing arm, seeing a missing limb for the first time in years. Steve put his hand on Bucky shoulder, "You deserve this Buck, more then anyone here." Steve said. T'Challa walked back on the jet taking the pilot seat, "Your friends are doing ok, some more then others, we can get them out when you both are healed." T'Challa said taking off heading to Wakanda. "Thank you, I mean it." Bucky final said to the prince, T'Challa just nod his head at him. Ramona was watching the shadow man fly the jet with little to no trust, Bucky smiled petting her back with his hand, "Relax girl, I think we will be ok." Bucky said, Ramona turned her head to look at him with love then turning back watching the shadow man. Steve shook his head at her, "I don't think she's ready to forgive yet Buck" Steve said. Bucky smiled at his friend then closed his eyes wanting to get rest, Steve wasn't far behind also resting his eyes.

T'Challa looked at the two men that was sleeping he then turned his attention to the dog that was staring him down just as fierce. "I'm not going to hurt him, you are a good beast, I can tell you care for Barnes deeply." T'Challa said, "I am curious as to how you are able to tear my suit, you shouldn't be able to damage it so smoothly." T'Challa said looking at the dog who finally let her guard down closing her eyes but keeping her ears perked in his direction. T'Challa chuckled, "You are very loyal, hopefully I will never feel your teeth again." T'Challa said giving Ramona one last look, he heard her let out a huff followed by a loud yawn before she settle down, sleep finally winning the battle. The jet touch down when T'Challa sister came running down to meet him, "Is this the man brotha?" Shuri asked looking at the man with the broken metal arm, "Yes, can you help him?" T'Challa ask, "Mr. Rogers, Mr. Barnes this is my little sister Shuri, she's the smartest person that I know, she will help Barnes with everything he needs." T'Challa said introducing everyone, "And this is Ramona, the loyal beast of Mr. Barnes." T'Challa finished. Shuri nod her head smiling at the men, "Come this way please." Shuri said leading them to her lab. Bucky and Steve looked to one another then following.

"You men can shower, we have American clothes for you both to change into." Shuri said showing the men everything along the way to her lab, "Thank you ma'am." Steve said looking in awe at what was around him, he thought he saw everything when it came to high technology things, Wakanda was on a whole other level. Steve and Bucky went their own ways to wash up, Bucky waited for Steve to close a room door when he turned his attention to Shuri, "Shuri, can I ask you for a favor." Bucky said looking at the young girl who gave him all her attention, "Of course." Bucky nod his head and began to explain everything that happen with Hydra and how they control his mind with phrases. "Do you think you can help me get them out of my mind, I don't want anything to happen like this again." Bucky finished explaining, "Yes, I can try, my lab have everything I need to try and erase some of the phrases." Shuri said thinking already about a solution that can help the poor man. "One more thing, can you put me in a cybrofreeze?" Bucky asked, Shuri nod her head, "If that's what you want." Shuri said "It is, I've been thinking about his for a while." Bucky said. Siri nod her head, "Ok meet me in a few hours, i'll get everything setup My brotha should meet you both soon." Shuri then made her way to her lab.

Bucky went into the room that the prince so graciously gave them, "Come on girl, let's get washed up." Bucky said grabbing Ramona quickly before she can make her escape dragging her to the bathroom to get a bath. Steve knocked on their door asking if he can come in, "Yea come in Steve." Bucky said finishing putting on an under shirt then toweling down Ramona careful of her wounds that was healing on their own. Ramona wasn't at all happy as she grumble every time Bucky rub her head with the towel, "Stop acting like a spoil brat." Bucky said with a smile as Ramona continue to voice her unhappiness. "You know it's your fault Buck, you made her this way." Steve said watching Ramona make more unhappy nosies  when ever the towel got close to her face. "You're right, I don't regret nothing." Bucky said laughing  pulling the towel away from Ramona. "Steve I have to tell you that i'm going to be put under again, I talked with the princess about it." Bucky explains to Steve everything that he wanted to do and that Shuri maybe able to help him get the phrases out his head. Steve listen to his friend, he wasn't happy about what his friend wanted to do but he understood why, if there was a change for Bucky to be truly free from Hydra then he was willing to back him up. "You know Ramona won't be happy, but at least she knows where you are this time." Steve said looking at the dog that was glaring at Bucky who still held the evil towel.

Bucky look back to Ramona with a smile, "I know, but I have to do this, for my own sake and everyone else." Bucky said calling Ramona over. Ramona made her way happily enjoying the love she was being given, "I know she will understand this time around." Bucky continue to look at his dog that he love so much with all his heart. Steve stretch Ramona underneath her chin, "I'll watch her Buck, don't worry, just worry about getting better." Steve said with a smile. "Captain Rogers, Sargent Barnes, are you ready?" They heard T'Challa call through the door, the men shared a look, "Let's go buddy" Steve said walking out the room giving the prince a smile then walking out with Bucky and Ramona to the lab to meet Shuri.

Bucky was sitting on a table as he was being prep for the cybrofreeze, "Are you sure that you want to go through with this?" Steve ask, Bucky smiled at his friend, "I don't trust my own head, it's for the best." Bucky said. Ramona knew something was up as she watched everyone around crowed Bucky poking and prodding him, she look to Bucky with an unsure stare, "It's ok girl, i'm going to be here for a little while, I will always be with you don't worry. I love you so much." Bucky said giving Ramona a kiss and a hug. Ramona whined absorbing her final moments with her Bucky, Steve and everyone watch on giving them time to say goodbye. "Sargent Barnes, we are ready." Shuri said with a smile watching the duo. Bucky let go of Ramona giving her one more starch and kiss then walking over to his cybrofreeze, Bucky and Ramona looked to one another for a final time, Bucky smiled at her before Siri turned on the tank freezing Bucky. Ramona let out a whine when they put Bucky away, "It's ok girl, we know where he his this time, you can see him anytime you want." Steve said bending down rubbing Ramona head. Ramona gave Steve a lick, Steve stood up giving Shuri a thank you, following T'Challa who nod his head for Steve to follow, both men looked out the lab window, "You know, once the world find out where we are, they are going to come here." Steve said looking at the vast world around him, T'Challa gave Steve a smile, "They can try." T'Challa said both men was looking at the giant Black Panther statue that was station by the lab the symbol of Wakanda. Ramona was looking out to the world that was now her home, she knew Bucky was close by this time around, what ever threat come to her Bucky she would be ready to protect him, even if it cost her, her life.
