(This is around the time I entered my phase where I was obsessed with gifs so be warned)
I've only read the first part of this book, hence why I'm doing part one, along with the fact that this chapter is already so long. This book did not disappoint.

I wouldn't say it's as frustrating and terrible as Twilight, but it's second. First things first: Yes, they did make a movie of this. I have heard it is shit. Here's a still from it:

Let's start with the summary at the back (yeah I know it's called the blurb, but that word is always weird to me for some reason)
Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. The earth has been invaded by a species that take over the minds of human hosts while leaving their bodies intact, and most of humanity have succumbed.
Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, knew about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the too-vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.
Melanie fills Wanderer's thoughts with visions of the man Melanie loves - Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body's desires, Wanderer yearns for a man she's never met. As outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set set off to search for the man they both love.
Featuring what may be the first love triangle involving only two bodies, The Host is a riveting and unforgettable novel that will bring vast new readership to one of the most compelling writers of our time.
*puke* "One of the most compelling writers of our time" Really? Fuck you. Just literally, fuck you. I read the back of this and I thought it sounded okay. I didn't remember much of it from when I read it first (about four years ago) but I was waiting for the Love Interest, because we all know Stephenie Meyer can't write without a love interest. And there he is, the hero of our time, Jared, one of the most possessive cuntish abusive wankers since Edward Cullen and Jacob Black.
