THE group of eight made their way to Eddie's house as quickly as they could. They needed to make sure that he got to a hospital as quickly as possible and the best way for that to happen was to get him to his mother. As soon as the group were in walking distance to Eddie's house, Ginny slipped off of Stan's bike and limped her way up to the door, knocking. Mrs. Kaspbrak opened the door and looked down at the girl.
"Mrs. Kaspbrak there's been an accident. Eds fell and his arm is," Ginny began to speak before the woman cut her off by rushing inside the house.
The woman rushed back out of the house with her purse and keys, slamming the door behind her.
"Move all of you!" Eddie's mother spoke as she rushes to get to her son.
She grabbed Eddie's uninjured arm and began yelling at the other seven teenagers. Mrs. Kaspbrak looked at Ginny as she yelled about Eddie being delicate. With tears in her eyes, Ginny rushed forward and opened the passenger side door for her friend, helping him in the car.
Ginny felt like it was her fault that Eddie was injured. Maybe if she had stayed in the house with the three then she could have prevented Eddie from falling and breaking his arm. If she hadn't been so insistent on going into that house than they wouldn't be in this mess to begin with.
"We were attacked M-Mrs. K!" Bill tried to explain to the woman.
"No. Don't. Don't try to blame anyone else," the woman said, looking at the group as Ginny closed the door for Eddie.
"Ginny what in God's name happened to your face?" Mrs. K asked with disgust as she fumbled with her keys.
Ginny's eyes widened as she pressed her hand to her face. She quicking came up with a lie that she must have hit something when she was trying to help Eddie.
"Mrs. Kaspbrak I truly am sorry about Eddie. I should have kept a closer eye on him. I'm so sorry for letting you down. I hope you let me have the chance to make it up to you," Ginny said as she looked up at the mother.
"We'll see about that. Now," Mrs. Kaspbrak stopped speaking when she dropped her keys.
"Let me help," Beverly tried to help as she bent down to grab the keys for the woman.
Eddie's mother stopped the girl quickly as she picked up her own keys. She spit out that she had in fact heard the rumors about the redheaded girl.
"Mrs. Kaspbrak I've told you they're just rumors," Ginny muttered, trying to stick up for the girl but still trying to not anger the woman in front of her even more.
"Mrs. K, I s-s," Bill tried to speak to the woman before getting cut off.
"No! You are all monsters! All of you!" the woman looked at the eight teens. "Eddie is done with all of you! You hear? Done!"
