Chapter 4

Jace's POV
Ive just gotten back from clary's apartment so that Izzy can go watch her. This was harder than I thought, because this time she could actually see me, and I wanted her too, so I would have a reason to talk to her, but the time is not right. We have to wait until the right moment so we can tell her everything. When will that moment be? I don't really know.
I just send Izzy a message so she can know I'm coming home, so she come to take care of Clary. I really need to take a shower and sleep. For the first time this year, i can really calm down a little. But I know i will only be able to be fully better when i have her by my side again.

Izzys POV
I just woken up when I see the text jace send me. I'm nervous and excited, I mean, I'm going to see my best friend again! I know that's from far away and she doesn't even remember me, but I do remember her. I quickly get changed and go to her apartment as fast as I can.
When I get there, I see she's going out, so I decide to follow her and see if anything happens. I just have my whip and a sword with me, in case anything happens.
She wondering around the city distracted, almost as she's lost in her own mind. I didn't know how much I missed her until I saw her. At the same time she looks like the Clary I knew, she doesn't, she looks like the first time I saw her, at Pandemonium when she followed Jace there. I remember he was captivated by her, he wouldn't stop talking about her all the way until the institute. I remember he begged Hodge to allow him to find her and bring her to the institute. When he came back holding her in his arms, unconscious, I swear he was afraid, like I've never seen before. Afraid that something would happen to her.
I may have suffered with her "loss" this past year, but I don't think it comes near what he's being going through. We all said he should move on, but we should know better. He won't move on. It's Clary that we are talking about. Alec has Magnus, I have Simon, but he didn't have anyone, someone to be truly there for him.
I saw she getting to the coffee shop, so I decide to keep a certain distance so she can't see me.

Clary's POV
This night i had to take some pills so I would be able to sleep. But that didn't stopped me from having some weird dreams. Most of them involved vampires and werewolves and something called shadowhunters, things that don't really make sense. Besides that, all night I had this weird feeling like someone was watching me, but I couldn't know who.
I decide to grab some breakfast in a coffee shop near by. I start to think about everything that has been happening in this past few days, how everything started when I saw Jace. How all these dreams and visions started when we started to talk.
I don't know why I have this feeling of knowing him already, that's somehow he is someone important to me. He's so easy to talk to, he's lovely, but he seem to have had a rough past, and all I want to do is be there for him, support him somehow.
When i notice, I'm already in front of the coffee shop, so I enter and make my order and go take a sit so I can have breakfast at peace.
I'm eating a croissant when I look at the window and see a brunette girl looking at me from across the street. When I pay attention I remember  that is Simons girlfriend, Isabelle. I dont even think twice, i get out of the coffee shop and start to go after her. She sees me and start running. I notice she has some kind of sword with he.
"Hey you! I know who you are!"- I shout and she doesn't  even bother to stop running. I notice she looks at me and give me a sympathetic look and start to run faster, and that's when I lose her of my sight. I stop running , frustrated. I need to have some answers, so I decide to text Jace and see if we can meet today and maybe he can have some answers.

Jace's POV
I wake up with the sound of my phone bipping, noticing me I have a new message, and then I see its a message from Clary. As I open the text, I cant help but smile

Phone on

Clary 💕: Hey Jace! I was wondering if you free todays afternoon so we can hang out? At my apartment this time? I really need to talk a little. So, are you in? Kisses 🧡
Jace: Hey! Of course I'm in! I'll meet you there at 1 ok? Cant wait to see you...
Clary💕: Sounds perfect! Cant wait to see you too 😊

Phone off

Ive just finished talking to Clary when my phone started ringing and I see that's Izzy, so I answer it.

Phone ON
-Hey Izzy. Everything ok?- I ask her
-Jace, i have a problem- She says
-Izzy, what happened? Did something happened to Clary?- I start to worry
-Not yet, but I think something might happen! I was watching her when she was having breakfast and I saw a demon, i killed him, but when i looked at her again, she saw me and started running behind me, calling my name. We have to do something!-Izzy said worried
-Ok Iz, calm down. Ill see her this afternoon and I will keep an eye on her and see if something happens- I say trying to calm her- I just have to do something so I don't let her see my weapons. But be calm Izzy, will take care of her. What about you come back to the institute so I can go watch her?- I suggest
-Ok, I'm coming back, but be careful- She says and hung up

Phone off
Its already 11 am, so I started to get my weapons ready and think of a way so that clary dont see them. I wait until its 12 so i leave the institute and go to her apartment to see if she's there. I got there and ringed the doorbell and waited for her to open the door. I cant help but feel nervous. When she opened the door, she had the biggest smile on her face and came to hug me.
-Hey Jace! I'm so happy you came. Please come in!- She said moving from the door so I could enter her apartment.
-Thanks for inviting me.
-Please, have a seat!-she says pointing to the couch while she goes to the kitchen- Do you want something? Water, coffee?- she asked from the kitchen.
-Coffee sounds great!- I answered.I couldn't help but think how domestic this sounded. Would ours life's be this way if this last year hadn't happened? She came back and handed me a cup and we started talking. After a while she says
-Jace, there's something i have to talk to you about- she says and I tensed
-What it is?
-This past few days i have been having these weird dreams, but they dont feel like dreams at all, they seem to be memories
-And why are you telling me this?
-Because somehow they always have you in it. And they always involves this figures that you have tattooed , I even had them on some of them. And there as demons, and vampires and something called shadowhunters. What do this mean jace?
Because i cant even answer, her doorbell rings and i see that she's a little confused, but she went to get it anyway.
-Just give me a minute. Its probably my landlord- she says and go to the door, and i follow her. She opens the door and I see a man there- Hey Marcus, what are you doing here?- she said confused
-Just here to get your rent- he said, but something sounded off
-But I paid last week-Clary said with a confused look. When I looked him and saw his eyes, I understood everything. Its a shapeshifter. He looked at me and noticed my runes.
-CLARY!- I screamed but she wasn't fast enough so he pushed her across the room. I saw that he had hurt her, but i had to finish him first before going to her.
He was back in his true form. I took a blade and an axe to fight him. Before he could even notice, I stabbed him and he was disappearing. I ran to Clary and see she's almost unconscious.
-Clary. Are you listening to me?- I said while taking her in my arms
-Jace- she said in a weak voice- What happened?
-Ill tell you after ok. Just be strong okay? Ill take you somewhere safe- I say calming her, and myself, a little
-Okay, i trust you-she says and just felt into unconsciousness
I texted Magnus telling him what happened, and while I waited his portal to the institute, and looked at clary and couldn't help but remember the day we met, how i saved her from the demon. I was lost in my thought when i saw something glowing on her neck and her moving a little, like she was in pain. I look at her neck and saw it.
She had her Iratze back.
