*Adriana's pov*
I've fallen asleep twice now he wakes me up when we stop at places to get food we're currently at the taco bell drive thru as smooth jazz plays
"What do you want?" He asks as we pull up to the speaker
"2 enchiladas and 1 quesadilla" I say in a sleepy voice he nods his head and I close my eye's again sighing after about 6 minutes the lady gives him the food and we drive away I immediately pull the food out of the bag.
"I found the hotel we'll be staying the night at" He says watching me stuff my face and giggles
"See it's pretty nice" He point's as we pull into a big hotel I put my food back in the bag and get out
"I can't wait to feel the comfort of a bed" I sigh dragging my feet as we walk into the entrance
"You me I've been driving for eleven hours straight" He says and goes to the front desk the lobby is empty
"Welcome to south star inn how may I help you" The lady with an all black suit and blonde highlights greets us I look over at dedrick it's been 6 seconds and he hasn't said a word he looks at the woman and squints his eye's as if he's trying to get a good view It looks like he's sniffing the air he scrunches his face as if he's smelled raw sewage
"Dedrick what's wrong?" I touch his arm and he immediately grabs me putting me behind him
"Which one are you huh?" He says in a dark tone this whole time I'm peeping from behind him i watch as the woman's face contort's my eye's turn to the size of plates he doesn't flinch
"You know she's not you're right to take" She hisses like a snake her eye's turn to slits like a alligator and she jumps on top the counter he quickly pulls out one of his knives and tosses it right into her neck I gasp
"Wha- what was that!?" I ask he tugs my arm pulling me out of the hotel lobby and pushes me into the passengers seat
"That was a shape shifter it also was a reptilian so not only are the other gods on our ass so is the government" I choke as he shuts his door
"The fucking government are we fugitives what if they kill us what do they want why them!?" I scream he suddenly covers my mouth
"Can you stop talking...for one second while I collect my thoughts" I sigh and sink back into my seat my thoughts run wild he quickly starts driving I watch him as he throws his phone out the window.
"Throw you're phone out the window and any other electronic devices you have" I don't question him and throw out my phone and tablet
"Well stop and get different phones at a store" I nod my head
"So basically the government wants to get a hold of you as well" my eye's widen
"But why?"
"You're the goddess of the sun if they get a good supply of you're dna they can control the sun and why wouldn't they want to they can't get into Olympia you'll be safe there no earthly being can get in without permission you have a strange mix of dna- well not strange but no other god possesses it"
I raise my brow I don't know what to make of this situation I look into the side mirror and see a black truck I thought nothing of it until we switched lanes and from behind that one truck it was three more of the same kind
"Uh dedrick??" I start to panic I don't even have to tell him what I see he catches on
"Bastards!" He yells
"I need you to get the duffle bag out the back seat" I pick up the bag and it's heavy he grabs it and places it in his lap speeding the truck up he unzips it pulling out an automatic he hands me a tech
"How about we play a game called shoot the tires on all the black trucks?" My dad taught me how to shoot guns at a young age so I'm a pro at this
"I'm gonna let the window down and I want you to know they will shoot back when you see movement towards the window I want you to get back in and duck okay?" He says letting down the window
"Okay" I lean out the window and shoot the tires I see the window roll down so I get back in and duck
"Hold the wheel!" He says as he leans out his window his foot has the gas pedal floored as he fires rounds the trucks split up going on each side of us bullets fly through the truck shattering the Windows I shoot back the tires fly from under the truck as they spin off the road the only truck left his on his side.
I come out the window resting my arms steady on top of the roof and angle the barrel down the man hanging out the window shooting at dedrick I shoot him directly in the temple he hangs lifelessly out the window I shoot the tires and the truck flips I get back into the truck and sit down breathing heavily he suddenly looks at me and laughs hysterically I giggle because of his laugh.
"What's so funny we almost fucking died?!" I choke out of the laughter
"Girl that was cold you my ace now honey..how did you learn to shoot like that?" He asks keeping his eye's on the road now
"My dad always used to take me to a old building and we'd shoot mannequin's"
"Damn you good you got that from you're other father too he has an amazing aim"
"Sounds like he's good at everything"
"Not everything but war is definitely one of them he's known for not missing his target"
*20 minutes later*
We stop in a crispy cream parking lot I follow his he gets out so I do too
"What are we doing?" I ask tilting my head curiously
"Well since this truck is shot up we need another coup"
"Are we gonna steal one?"
"Uh no I have one in most locations this is where we were going they already got a good description of this truck so we'd have to ditch it anyways" He says as we walk to a car this time
"I'm sure this one is gonna get us where we need to go" he unlocks the door and I get I the passengers seat we hit the road yet again.
