Marinette's POV
It had been twenty weeks since we had received our choreography from Clara, and we had worked our asses off for all those twelve weeks to perfect our routine. At this point, we had all bonded and had a flawless routine. Some of us had gotten even closer. Adrien and I had hung out a lot more, and Luka and I had hung out a lot. Lila and Chloe we're still bitches, and had to crouch in the back during all of the stunts.
But the main thing that was on anybody's mind right now was that today was our last practice before our first competition. Tomorrow at three o'clock in the morning, we would all meet and get on a bus to go to New Jersey. I couldn't wait, but I was also immensely nervous. There were always nerves so this was completely normal.
After warmup, we all got on a tape of the floor to stretch. Rose led stretches as the rest of us followed. The assistant coaches and Master Fu were talking about what they were going to have us work on for the practice. It mostly consisted of fifty consecutive full-outs. We were all talking about what we were going to do in New Jersey, where we were all staying, who we were staying with, what we were scared for, and so on and so forth.
"Marinette and I are staying at the Hilton together, so that I can do her makeup and hair for the competition," Alya told the team as we did the butterfly stretch.
Nino perked up as we did the standing pike stretch, "Dudette, that's where Adrien and I are staying too. What floor are you guys on?"
"The eighth floor. We splurged on a suite," I answered.
"We're on the eighth floor too! We wanted a suite as well. Maybe we'll be neighbors," Adrien responded switching to a runners lunge stretch.
Luka, who was on my left responded with, "I'm at the Hilton on the eighth floor too! Maybe I'll see you guys there."
I looked to Adrien who seemed to be glaring at Luka which confused me a little, but I brushed it off. I turned to Alya so I could ask her a question while sliding down into my right split.
"Who are you sitting with on the bus?" I asked my bestie.
"Nino said that he's bringing birthday cake Oreos, so I'm sitting with him," she giggled.
I pouted, "You're leaving me?"
"I know, honey," she patted my shoulder. "Maybe I'll sit with you on the way back."
"Marinette," Adrien called out to me.
A few scenarios of why he'd be calling me ran through my head and made me blush. I turned to him with a smile before doing a runners lunge on my left leg.
"Yes?"
"I was wondering if you—" Adrien began.
Luka interrupted, "Marinette, can I ask you something?"
I turned to Luka, "Yeah, just give me a minute, please."
I turned back to Adrien, "You were saying?"
"I was wondering if you wanted to sit with me on the bus," he finished telling me.
I blushed. Adrien Agreste wanted to sit next to me on the way to a cheer competition. Me. He wanted to sit next to me. I was stunned. I wanted to scream out a thank you to the universe.
"I would love to," I smiled sliding into my left split.
"Great," he returned my smile with a million dollar smile of his own.
I swooned. I then turned to Luka, and asked what he wanted to ask me.
"Oh, I was going to ask if you wanted to sit with me on the bus, but I realized that you are going with Adrien. I guess I can sit with one of the other dudes or maybe alone," Luka told me.
