the story of my life

Every day I was lonely
Every day I felt like no one cared
That if I gave up,
If I just let go today,
No one would miss me.
No one would notice I was gone.I'm
And that's when the voice creeped in

You are worthless.
No one gives a shit about you
You're dragging them down
Pulling them back.

Life was like an ocean
An ocean in which I couldn't swim
The voice kept haunting
Drown. Die. Stop trying.

I lived in a world where nothing was okay
Compliments were lies
"Wow! You're so talented!"
They're lying
and insults were daggers
"You're a waste of space!"
They're right, you're a mistake

I was walking the tightrope
Struggling to keep my balance
They hate you
YOU ARE WORTHLESS
I slipped
I found myself at an all-time low

There I was
So close to giving up
Until I felt a hand on mine
And then another
Two more
Before I knew I was surrounded by people
They told me I was worth helping
They were there for me
So here I am
Still not quite healed
But I am better
