Here's the biggest mistake people make. When they have a mental struggle, they use bad habits to cope with the struggle. They become addicted to those bad habits and in the end, they are now not only coping with the mental struggle, but they are now coping with the bad habit as well. Ex: using self harm to cope with depression and afterwards, having to cope with both self harm and depressiøn. My advice is to think a few steps ahead. Before adopting a bad habit/coping mechanism, think about where that habit will lead you in the future. Is it a good idea?
