Molly walked down the children's isle in the High Point Public Library, where she usually went each Friday before going home to her beloved family.

Studying the colorful books on the shelfs, Molly had finally found the book that she would read with her little brother, Shane, for the following week.
This week they started reading The Cat and The Hat, which was a very small book of 61 pages. They read it all in three days.

Molly selected The Never Ending Story written by Michael Ende. She flipped it over and read the back. This book was first published in 1979 then translated in English by Ralph Manheim in 1983 and turned into a movie in 1984.
She flipped it over to the front and studied the cover. She slid her fingers across the large title of the book.

The title was circled by two never ending snakes hooked unto tree branches eating each other. Above the snakes were a beautiful set of roses and under a clear blue sky and under the snakes grew roses stood various mythical creatures on lively green grass, like what seemed like a boy in a stripped shirt sitting on a creature with the face of a lion and the tail of a dragon, next to it was what looked like a gargoyle. They all looked so beautiful and amazing to her. She knew that Shane would like it, it even seemed bigger than that current week's.
She flipped through the pages. The book had 448 pages. She smiled, then headed to the teen fiction isle.
She found a book on the fourth top shelf called P.S I Love You by Barbara Coklin. It looked pretty old but she liked it anyway. She read the back of the book out loud but quietly.

Molly felt satisfied with the books she had chosen then walked up the isle to the front desk where stood a lady in her early fourties stamping books. On the end of her long pointed nose stood a pair of large cat glasses. She wore a white blouse with the tiniest of light blue lines tucked into a long dark pencil skirt and a pair of dark high heels. She had dark black hair with grey strands that were pulled back into a large bun at the back of her head. Molly had never met this librarian before. She must have been new since Molly had already learned all of the librarians names before.

"Hello, are we taking out books or returning?" She asked with a warm smile. "Both." Molly said returning the smile. She got her backpack off her shoulders and opened up the second zipper of her bag to get out her library card and The Cat And The Hat.

She placed the books she was getting and the book she was returning in two different piles. She pointed to book she wanted to return. "This one is to return."

"Okay, thank you." The librarian said with a heavy southern accent. It sounded more Texas then the light accents they had in North Carolina.

The librarian pushed the book she returned away and typed her library card into a large binder then stamped the two books. "Here you go." Said the librarian. Molly took the books and her card and put them into her backpack and zipped it close.
She thanked the librarian. "Thank you," she took a look at her name tag. "Maggie."
Maggie smiled in response then went back to stamping books.

Molly slung her bag over her shoulder and walked out the exit of the library and started to continue her path home. She didn't live far from the library.
All she had to do was walk up Charles Avenue, cross onto Carson Road and take a left on Rosen Road. It took her about 10 minutes.
Molly had lived on Rosen Road for about two years, after her eldest brother, Christopher, left for college. It was somewhat bigger then they're last home, also prettier. They're house seemed like a cottage. The interior had four stories, including the basement and the very small attic. It had five bedrooms. Molly's room was in the basement while the rest were upstairs with the guest room. Both her brothers had they're own rooms.
Although Christopher was in college, he still lived with his parents. His college was an hour away but he loved his family too much to leave.
