Second Choice (Harvey x Reader)

It was late one night when you hear a knock at your door. You open the door to see your best friend, Harvey, with tears in his eyes.

"Harvey what's wrong?" You ask.

"Sabrina and I broke up. For good," Harvey states.

You gesture for him to come inside your house.

"I didn't know where to go. I just don't want to be alone right now. I hope you don't mind me showing up," Harvey says.

You hug him tightly.

"It's okay, I'm here for you. I was just watching Netflix in bed, you can join me if you want," You suggest.

"Only if we can watch my favorite movie," Harvey replies.

You use your laptop to search Netflix for Harvey's favorite movie. You select it and it starts playing.

You lay down on your bed with your laptop in front of you and start watching the movie. Harvey lays down next to you and the two of you watch the movie together. A few hours later, you feel tired.

"It's getting pretty late," You yawn.

"I can leave then," Harvey states.

"No, you should stay. It's too late to leave, it's already 2AM. You might as well sleep over," You suggest.

The bed is fairly small so you end up cuddling with each other. He wraps his arms around you and you can feel his heartbeat.

"I'm sorry if I interrupted your evening," Harvey apologizes running his hands through your hair.

"No it's fine. I'll always be somebody you can lean on," You say. He holds you tightly, not letting go.

You wake up and he's gone.

One week later

You were at Baxter High with your friend Roz at her locker. Harvey walks up to the two of you.

"Hey Roz, you want to go to the movies tonight?" Harvey asks Roz.

"Sorry I'm busy tonight," Roz replies.

"Y/N, would you want to go with me then?" Harvey asks.

"Alright... pick me up at 7PM," You answer hesitantly.

"Great! I'll see you then," Harvey grins.

Time skip to 7PM

Harvey arrives at your house.

"Thanks for agreeing to go with me to the movies," Harvey smiles.

"I'm sure you'd much rather Roz went with you though," you tease.

"What are you talking about?" Harvey asks confused.

"It's obvious that you have a crush on Roz," You state.

"Well I don't... I have a crush on someone else," Harvey replies.

"I see the way you look at her Harvey. It's the way you used to look at Sabrina," you comment.

"No. I think you're just jealous," Harvey states.

"I'm not jealous. I guess it's a bit hurtful to be your backup plan when I know you'd rather be with Roz or Sabrina," you admit.

"I wouldn't rather be with anyone else. Can we go to the movies now?" Harvey asks.

"Oh Harvey, I'm sick of just being your second choice. First Sabrina, now Roz, am I just a freaking joke to you?" You shout.

"You're not my second choice," Harvey states.

"I'm sure you'd much rather go with Roz since you obviously have a crush on her," You comment.

"You want to know the reason that I don't have a crush on Roz? I have a crush on you," Harvey admits.

You grab his face and kiss him. His lips are soft and he kisses back passionately. When your lips part you are left breathless.

"Now will you stop being jealous so we can just go to the movies?" Harvey asks.

"I'm sorry for being jealous," You apologize.

"It's fine. It's kind of cute that you care so much," Harvey states.

"Of course I care about you. Harvey, I'm in love with you," you admit.

"I'm in love with you too. Not Roz. Not Sabrina. Only you," Harvey confesses.

You smile and kiss him passionately.

"So... do you still want to see that movie?" Harvey asks.

"I'd love to," You smile.
