"We're so domestic," I think as we go

Grocery shopping together. You pick

Out your favorites, ask me to do so

As well. We find marvelous things, a thick

Slice of jackfruit, a jar of borscht; we buy

Neither. I discuss my issues with food,

How I work to recover, while I try

Not to live in extremes. Hope I'm not rude

When I ask you about personal things,

And you answer like we've known each other

For a long time. This interaction brings

Me so much joy, I just want to smother

You with affection, I like you so much.

Please be my best friend, and see me as such.
