I feel I care and give too much sometimes

that it goes unappreciated and sometimes

people just like to take advantage of that

and I get over it eventually

it sucks

I can't help but be nice to certain people

and give many chances

even to those who don't deserve it

I tend to shut down

when I no longer know what to do

I can't help but think

that maybe I shouldn't be as nice

but I can't stand being mean

to those who matter most

so I continue to care

over and over

hoping things will turn out okay.
