———

After the Second Civil War was fought over abortion rights, a compromise was reached, allowing parents to sign an order for their children between the ages of 13 and 18 to be "unwound"-- taken to "harvest camps" and dissected into their body parts for later use.

The reasoning is that, since 99.44% of the body is used, unwinds do not techinally die because their individual parts live on.

"You don't die. You just stop living."

So what are you then?

And what are you worth?

Two years before the legends of unwinding: Conner Lassiter, Risa Ward, and Lev Calder.

Two years before the rewind, Camus Comprix.

Two years before everything unraveled and made people finally question unwinding.

There was Emme Grant, a storked child who thought she'd make it to 18 but turned to unwinding at the age of 16.

And Brian Rogers, a 16-year-old kid who thought his father loved him enough to keep him dispite his past troubles.

Two teens with their own unwinding story, only to cross paths with each other to survive. Their story could be like any other AWOL unwind.
