Chapter 6

After class, it was gym time. This time Yuzu's class was going with Shai's class just for some fun time at the gym but you still had to be active. Some students surrounded Mei and asked to join their team. Yuzu was just sitting down on the floor and looked at Mei
Damnit...I really need to get her off my mind
"Yuzu" Shai said
"Eh? Oh hi Shai" Yuzu said and smiled. Shai looked at Yuzu and noticed her expression
"Are you okay?" Shai asked
"Huh? Oh yeah. I'm fine" Yuzu said
"Come on Yuzucchi. She's your cousin. You should at least tell her about your small problem" Harumin said nudging Yuzu a bit
"Problem?" Shai asked
Never have I thought about Yuzu having a problem. Back then Yuzu would always solve the problem on her own...
"It's nothing to worry about..." Yuzu said. Shai sighed and sat down next to her
"Come on Yuzu. We've known each other for a while now. You should trust me..." Shai said
"Heh...you're right. Well...the things is that I...I really hope you won't judge me but I...have a small crush on my stepsister" Yuzu said as she looked down. Shai's eyes widen and looked over at the black haired girl
"Hm...well okay. I'm not gonna judge but...mind explaining how the hell it all started?" Shai asked
"Well it started the first day...she stole my first kiss" Yuzu said. Shai's eyes widen and looked at her
"Woah...uhm okay. Then what? Or why did she even kiss you?" Shai asked
"She said she only kissed me because it was the easiest way to shut me up..." Yuzu said. Shai just clenched her fists tightly and gritted her teeth
Yuzu doesn't deserve to be treated like this! That fucking Aihara...I will confront her!
"But when I helped her deal with her father....we sorta grew closer and kissed again. The way we kissed was way different...it felt more passionate" Yuzu said as she blushed and touched her lips
"So...if you two grew closer then why are you looking so upset?" Shai asked
"Because she has a girlfriend. On Christmas night...she told me that she wanted to repay me for everything I've done for her. She said that we should do something that I want but...at the moment...I just...couldn't. I don't know what came over me...and during the trip...I met this girl and her twin sister. Sara and Nina Tachibana. Sara ended up confessing to Mei and she accepted..." Yuzu said. Shai just looked at Yuzu and could tell she was tearing up
Wh-what happened to the Yuzu I knew? Yuzu would always cheer me up when I'm upset...but now...Yuzu is upset. Last time I remember she was upset about her father's death and now...stupid love problems with her stepsister. Who the hell kisses someone to shut them up!? Was she using her!? No...Yuzu doesn't deserve her. She deserves someone better than that slut...
Flashback
Shai was on the floor crying until Yuzu ran up to her
"Hey! Don't hurt her!" Yuzu shouted at the group of kids
"Huh? Hehe and what are you going to do about it?" The boy asked. Yuzu clenched her fists tightly as her eyes glowed then her fist set itself on fire
"I'll burn you guys to death!" Yuzu shouted and ran up to the kids. The kids screamed and started crying to their mommies. Yuzu cooled herself down and ran up to Shai. Shai sniffed and wiped her tears
"Shai can you stand?" Yuzu asked
"Y-yeah...sorta" Shai said and whimpered
"Come here Shai. You're safe" Yuzu said and smiled. Shai looked at her smile and couldn't help but feel warm inside. She smiled back at her and grabbed her hand. She stood up and wrapped her arms around Yuzu trembling slightly. Yuzu hugged her back and smiled
"Don't cry Shai. I'll always be here..." Yuzu said as she stroked her hair softly comforting her. Shai just buried her face on her shoulder as she cried
"I'll always be here..." Yuzu whispered
End Of Flashback
Now...it's my turn to comfort her
Shai stood up and held her hand out
"Come Yuzu. Don't be upset. Let's just try to keep her off your mind. Want to play basketball with me?" Shai asked and smiled softly. Yuzu smiled back and grabbed her hand then stood up
"Sure" Yuzu said as she smiled
"Want to join us Taniguchi-san?" Shai asked
"Eh? How do you know me?" Harumin asked
"Oh because I've met your family before at one of the meetings. They sorta mentioned you before" Shai said
"Oh that...yeah" Harumin said
"But if you're part of the family then how come you're not at those meetings?" Shai asked
"My father already has a successor for the family. My big sister. She's perfect for being the heir to the Taniguchi family" Harumin said
"Ah I see. Anyways enough chit chat. Let's play" Shai said. Shai created her own team and added a couple of girls while Mei had a few of her admirers and Himeko in her team. The coach blew the whistle and the game started. Yuzu still felt a bit uncomfortable around Mei and trembled slightly. She felt Shai's hand on her shoulder and smiled
"Stop worrying cuz and just have fun. Remember the old times when we played?" Shai asked. Yuzu looked at her and nodded
"Hehe yeah. Those were the best moments ever..." Yuzu said. Suddenly the basketball headed towards Yuzu and she caught it
"Maybe we can cheat..." Shai whispered as her eyes glowed. Yuzu looked at her and chuckled softly
"Maybe..." Yuzu said and started dribbling the ball. Mei ran up to her trying to steal the ball. Yuzu's face redden and trembled slightly
Sh-shit! Mei!
"Yuzu! I'm open!" Shai shouted. Yuzu passed the ball to Shai and she ran to the basket. The girls ran up to Shai trying to take the ball from her but Shai jumped and made the shot
"Go Shai!" Yuzu cheered and smiled. Shai smiled back at her and giggled. Mei kept looking at them and she couldn't stand it. She didn't know what it was or what the hell she was feeling but she didn't like it one bit. Her eyes widen realizing it was the same feeling she felt when Yuzu was with Matsuri...and the kiss
"President? Are you feeling okay?" Himeko asked
"Yes...I'm fine" Mei said. The game kept going and the two teams were tied. Yuzu had the ball and that's when Himeko came up to her trying to take the ball. Yuzu just backed up and looked at Harumin. She passed it to Harumin and looked at Shai. Shai was being blocked by Mei and she looked over at the clock seeing 30 seconds left until the game was over
"Taniguchi!" Shai shouted as she ran away from Mei. Harumin passed the ball over to Shai. Mei tried reaching to get the ball but Yuzu came running in front of them then caught the ball. She turned around and aimed for the basket
"Make the shot Yuzucchi!" Harumin said
"Go Yuzu!" Shai said. The ball was thrown and it made it in the basket. The buzzer rung ending the game. Yuzu panted heavily and smiled brightly. Shai and Harumin ran up to Yuzu and cheered for her
"Haha! That was amazing Yuzucchi!" Harumin said
"Yeah! You're amazing as always" Shai said and giggled
"Oh come on guys. You were amazing too you know" Yuzu said and giggled. The other girls in their team walked up to them and complimented them. Mei just stood there and watched Yuzu surrounded by the other girls. The other girls in her team mumbled a few things about her. Himeko just glared at the girls and walked up to Mei
"Meimei...is everything okay?" Himeko asked
"I'm fine. How many times do I have to tell you?" Mei asked harshly
"I-I'm sorry...you just seemed upset" Himeko said
"I'm fine so stop asking..." Mei said and walked away to take a sip of water. Mei just walked to the water fountain and drinked some water. She tried catching her breathe and clenched her fists tightly remembering the Higashi touching Yuzu
What does that girl mean to Yuzu? They seem like they've known each other...just like that stupid brat. Were they childhood friends or something?

During the whole day, Mei couldn't stop thinking about Yuzu and the new girl. She kept struggling trying to fill out the papers. She sighed and removed her glasses taking a break from the paperwork
What does that girl have that I don't? Yuzu is so...happy with her. She seemed so excited too...especially last night. She couldn't stop texting her...I had to scold her and tell her to stop
"Uhm...President?" Himeko asked
"What is it?" Mei asked as she put her glasses back on
"I-I just wanted to check up on you..." Himeko said
"Stop worrying about me. There is no need dor you to check up on me. We are not kids..." Mei said
"Y-yeah I know...but still...I can't help but worry" Himeko said
"Well I appreciate it but...please stop worrying" Mei said
"Oh o-okay" Himeko said and fidgeted with her fingers
Something is in her mind...I know it
"Meimei...is something is bothering you?" Himeko asked
"No...it's nothing" Mei said
"Well...back at the gym you seemed slightly upset when you saw Aihara-san so close to Higashi-san. The new girl..." Himeko said. Mei just stayed silent for a moment and sighed
"It's nothing..." Mei said. Himeko looked at her and looked down
"Is it because you have a girlfriend? Are you jealous?" Himeko asked. Mei's eyes widen and stood up slamming her hands on the table
"That's none of your business! So stop asking me stupid questions!" Mei said raising her voice and glared at Himeko. Himeko clenched her fists tightly and looked up at Mei with a serious expression
"I don't understand why you keep things away from me Meimei. We're both friends and I'm the only one who truly knows how you feel. You can lie to many people but you can't lie to me...I'm worried about you Meimei. Ever since we returned from the trip...you started acting different. Now that this new girl transferred here to this Academy...you've been acting different too. Especially when that girl is around Aihara-san...why does that girl bother you?" Himeko asked. Mei just stayed silent and looked down
"None of your god damn business. We may be friends but..." Mei paused and clenched her fist tightly
"But what?" Himeko asked
"Nothing. Just leave. Get out of my office now Himeko" Mei said sternly as she glared at her
"Fine...and if you are wondering how I know about your love life...ask your sister" Himeko said before leaving the office and slammed the door shut. Mei removed her glasses and threw them to the ground. She sat down on her chair covering her face. She trembled slightly and let out a growl
What is wrong with me...

After school, everyone in the Academy started going home
"Hey Yuzu. I'm going to stay here for a bit and ask my teacher something" Shai said
"Okay. I have to go meet up with someone too so we'll see each other later" Yuzu said
"Sure. I'll call you when I'm done. Also invite Matsuri. I want to see her again" Shai said as she smiled
"Of course. Can I bring Harumin along?" Yuzu asked
"Yeah sure. I want to make new friends too" Shai said
"Great! See ya soon!" Yuzu said and walked down the hallways. Shai just smiled but then her smile faded
Time to have a word with the Aihara bitch...
Shai walked away and headed to the Student Council Office. She knocked on the door and Himeko opened the door
"H-huh? Higashi-san?" Himeko asked
"I came here to have a word with the President..." Shai said sternly
"Himeko...let her in" Mei said
"Y-yes President" Himeko said and opened the door allowing Shai in. Shai walked inside and had a serious expression and so did Mei
"Himeko...leave" Mei said
"Y-yes..." Himeko said and got out of the room leaving the Aihara girl with the Higashi girl. Shai just kept looking at her lavender eyes with her cold blue eyes. Mei ended up getting shivers from the Higashi and glared at her
"What do you need?" Mei asked with a stern tone
"I came here to talk about...Yuzu" Shai said sternly
