Rain crashed to the ground as footsteps pounded against the concrete. Where was she? She had to be around somewhere. How could she had disappeared when she had been by his side in bed moments ago?
"(Y/n)! My queen, where are you?"
Running in a panic, he called her name. Violet hair stuck to his forehead. His sapphire eyes were wide. As he took a breath, the sound of wings reached his ears.
"Nasch!"
"Dumon, what are you doing here?"
"Looking for you. What are you doing out here?"
"(Y/n) is missing. I've checked the entire palace. I can't find her anywhere."
"The queen is missing?!"
"Shut up. Keep your voice down. We don't want to cause a panic this late at night."
"Have you seen yourself, Nasch? You look horrible."
"Do I care what I look like? My wife is no where to be found."
"Calm down. You're going to be useless to find her if you don't calm down."
"Excuse me. I'm panicking right now. She was right next to me and now she's gone. I need to find my wife."
"We'll find her, Nasch. We'll find her."
"How are you so calm? This is my wife, your twin sister, we're talking about."
"Simple. I know how to keep a cool head. Yes, I'm worried but I'm thinking calmly."
"I'm sorry. I just don't want to lose her. Not now. I couldn't bare to lose her."
"I know, Nasch. I'll fly ahead and look for her, okay? We'll find her. Just stay calm."
"Alright. I'll continue looking by foot."
Dumon nodded and flew off on his pegasus. It always surprised Nasch how calm he was. Even with his twin sister missing, he was so level-headed. Nasch nodded and continued running, determined to find his wife.
As he reached the harbor, he saw it. Dumon, standing next to his pegasus, staring at something. There at the end of the dock, he saw (Y/n), chained and bound on her knees. Standing next to her was the orange-haired King of the neighboring Kingdom, Vector. With a smirk, Vector looked at Nasch, holding the chains to (Y/n)'s binds.
"I thought you'd never show up, Nasch. I thought you'd abandoned your beautiful wife here."
"Give her back to me, Vector."
"Oh, Nasch. Did you think I'd be so kind? No, I'm not doing you any favors. Your lovely wife is here to be helpful to me. You love her very much and that's why I'll take that away from you."
"Don't you dare harm her, Vector."
"And what the hell are you gonna do about it, Nasch? All it takes is a pull and I'll cut off her oxygen."
"Don't you fucking dare."
"Awe. Have I struck a nerve? Oh, wait. Your wife is pregnant, isn't she? You're expecting an heir soon, aren't you?"
"How do you know that?"
"I have my ways, Nasch. I can actually take everything away from you before your child is even born."
Vector smirked and pulled a blade from behind his back, holding it to her throat. Tilting her head up, Nasch could see she was unconscious. His heart was pounding as Vector applied pressure to her throat. Nasch was frozen in fear as Vector smirked at him. He screamed as (Y/n)'s unconscious body fell to the floor.
Shooting up in bed, Shark was panting and sweating. He took a deep breathe. It had only been a nightmare. Looking to his side, he saw (Y/n) curled up at his side. He smiled in relief. She slowly stirred, looking up at him with sleepy (e/c) eyes.
"Reginald, what's wrong? What are you doing up so late?"
"It's alright, (Y/n). I'm sorry for waking you up. I just had a nightmare."
"A nightmare? Are you okay?"
"I'm alright now, my queen. I'm sorry if I woke you up."
"You didn't. The baby woke me up to use the bathroom."
"Not even born yet and already baby Kastle is so hard on his mother."
"Heh. It's alright, love. It's all worth it to bring our child into the world."
(Y/n) smiled at him and got up to go to the bathroom. Looking down at his left hand, he smiled at the gold band on his finger. His heart was beating fast, remembering their wedding day and the day (Y/n) told him she was pregnant. Rio had been so excited about being an aunt and Dumon was happy for them.
Returning to bed, (Y/n) embraced him. He smiled and kissed her softly. He placed his head on her stomach, listening to the gentleman heartbeat of their child. (Y/n) played with his violet hair gently. He felt calmer, knowing that his wife and child were both safe in his arms. He kissed her stomach tenderly.
"I love you both so much."
"Did you have that nightmare again?"
"Huh?"
"You know that we're safe now, right? Vector isn't here. We're not on Barian World, you aren't a king anymore. The only thing still the same is that I'm still your wife."
"I know that."
"Reginald Kastle, be honest with me. Are you scared of losing me?"
"How can I not be? You're beautiful and perfect. So many men would snatch you from me given the chance."
He hugged her waist tightly. She laughed and stroked his hair softly. He closed his eyes, relaxing into her touch. She always knew how to help him relax when he's had a rough night.
"Shark, you have nothing to worry about. I married you, didn't I?"
"Yeah but..."
"Shh. I love you and no one else. I was your queen in your past life and your wife in this one."
"R..right."
"So, stop worrying so much. I'll never leave you, Reginald. Not in this life and not in any other life. I love you."
"I love you too, my queen."
Laying back down, holding his wife to him, he drifted to unconscious. He had no idea why he had been so uneasy. Having that warmth beside him was enough to relax him. Vector would never take her away again.
A.N: Hey, guys. What is up? It's been so long since I had any inspiration to write anything. I apologize if everyone's favorite Barian King is too OOC in this one. I'm revisiting Zexal currently but if you have any suggestions for who you want to see, feel free to post your comments and I will do my best to have it written. For now, I hope you enjoyed this one and look forward to the next one. Next up: Kaito "Kite" Tenjo. See you next time.
