"What happened before she fell?" Farkle asked.
Lucas still hasn't told Farkle and I what happened before Maya hit her head.
"I forced her to pick between me and her mom," Lucas said rubbed his forehead.
"She hasn't spoken to her mom in years," I responded.
"Yeah well her mom called asking to see her and I told her she wasn't allowed to see her."
"Why?"
"I've seen her cry to many times over her mom I wasn't going to let her do it again."
The worst part is Lucas was doing the right thing. He couldn't let Maya see her mom after all these years.
"Lucas what you did wasn't wrong," Farkle said trying to bring him up.
"If I had just kept my mouth shut we'd still be together," he started crying again, "And not here sitting in the hospital waiting for her to wake up."
"Lucas it's-" I began.
Lucas got up out of his seat, "I need to get some coffee can you stay and watch her."
Farkle shook his head, "Of course."
