The night had begun.
Jeremy was on music box and camera duty, while Mike had put himself on vent and hall duty. For a good while, Jeremy thought this was going to be easy. And it kind of was, since he had been hired on the second night.
Now Mike, he had some experience with this type of stuff, having already worked at the first location. He had no idea why he started working here. He guessed he didn't want anyone to go through the same horror he had been through. And he was doing a good job, until Jeremy came along.
The two...hadn't exactly communicated during the night, save for the brunette's little squeaks and jumps when he saw something move, or when Mike shoved him under the desk since there was only one Freddy mask. Fun. After a while, though, Jeremy finally decided to make some small talk.
"So...why did you decide to start working here?" He asked. The older man didn't answer for a few minutes, but did eventually. "So people wouldn't have to experience this." More silence. Jeremy asked again. "Do you know why they're trying to get to the office?"
Now that answer, Mike did know. But he wasn't so sure Jeremy wanted to hear it. "Dunno." He turned to face Jeremy. "Alright, noobie-" "Jeremy!" "-Jeremy, why are you working here?"
Jeremy should've known he would get asked right back. "M-Money to get an apartment." He answered back. Mike send him a side glance. "That didn't sound too certain." Jeremy had a small pout. "You have your reasons, I have mine." He shot back, causing Mike to playfully put his hands up in surrender. "Alright, point taken. We got a feisty one here." He said. Jeremy giggled at that.
"Yeah, well you're kind of a dick, so take that." Mike leaned back in his chair and placed a hand over his chest like he had been hit. "Ugh! Your words were super effective!" "Nice Pokémon reference, Mikey-" Jeremy internally cringed. Did he really just call him that? He looked over at Mike, who looked rather amused. "Mikey huh? That means I get to call you Jere~" The teen laughed and shook his head.
The bell chimed, along with their sighs of relief, and after they exchanged numbers, for work purposes of course, they parted ways. Jeremy actually looked forward to coming in tomorrow, while Mike felt the same, but a little more surprised that he actually looked forward to coming to Freddy's.
