Hidden behind a mask
Is a girl.
A girl whose mind is broken
And whose heart is missing.
A girl who has and doesn't have.
A girl whose eyes are dry and not,
Emotion and no emotion.
A girl who hides in the shadows
Trying to find the light.
A girl that says "I'm fine"
When really she is saying "Help me."
A girl with a smile that lights up a world
Except her own.
A girl whose humor makes others happy
Except herself.
A girl who feels lonely in a crowd
A girl who finds comfort in a different way.
That girl,
That girl behind the mask
Is me
And I'm ready to break free.
