Lilly finally meets her father Gareth Southgate and her whole life changes. What will happen as she goes along to the World Cup and meets a certain boy?
"you alright sweetheart?" Gareth asked me as I walked into his office
"yeah I was just wondering where the nearest supermarket or shop is" I said
"10 minute car journey, why what do you need?" he asked
"just some lady bits" I said awkwardly
"oh right okay, here take my car" he said passing me the keys
"are you sure? I could just get a taxi" I told him
"no no, take the car but ask the boys if they need anything before you go" he insisted
"okay thank you" I said as I walked out the office "alright lads anybody want anything?"
"where you going?" Jordan asked
"popping to the shops I need some bits" I replied
"but the kitchen literally has everything you need" Trent said
"I don't need food T" I chuckled
"oh" he said realising what I meant
"well done Trenty boy" John laughed
"I'm serious anyone want any snacks or something?" I asked
"nah Dels still got a load for us to eat" Eric replied
"I want something but I don't know what" Marcus told me
"well that helps doesn't it" I giggled rolling my eyes at him "why don't you just come with me so you can decide?" I suggested
"yeah okay, you getting a taxi?" he asked
"nah Gazza gave me the keys to his car" I said
"Gazza why don't you call him dad" he chuckled
"I don't know I've only known him for less than a month so I guess I'm not ready yet" I explained
"shit of course sorry, I completely forgot about that" he apologised
"it's fine, I'm used to it" I smiled

"so how are you feeling about Luke?" Marcus asked as we sat down in my hotel room
"if I'm honest, I haven't even had time to think about him" I admitted
"obviously not that bothered then are you" he laughed
"no I think there was just too much going on in my life to try and make things with him work" I told him
"yeah and how are things with your family?" he asked
"why are you asking?" I questioned him
"because I might not have known you for long but I know you're not fully happy" he pointed out
"ugh you're right" I frowned "I guess it's just hard, I mean I've never had a family all I've had is my Grandad so now I've been thrown into the deep end and I don't know how to handle it"
"hey it's okay to be overwhelmed" he assured me by stroking my arm
"it just makes me miss my Grandad even more" I said trying to hold back my tears
"c'mere" he said holding his arms out for a hug "what was he like?"
"he was literally the best, he always put me before anything else which was completely the opposite to my mum. Even when he got sick he made sure that I'd be as happy as I could be" I explained
"well I wish I could've met him, he sounds like a great guy" he smiled
"he really was, that's why I wanna make him proud" I sighed
"I can already tell you you're making him proud, you're one of the most beautiful, kind hearted and funny people I've ever met" he described while looking into my eyes
"thanks" I said breaking the eye contact and fiddling with my hands
"hey look at me" he said raising my chin with his finger "you're incredible" he told me before going in for a kiss
"Marcus you've got a girlfriend" I whispered after I pulled away
"God you're right, sorry I don't know what I was thinking" he sighed shaking his head
"it's fine, but you should probably go back to your room now" I smiled
"yeah you're right, I'll see you tomorrow" he said as he walked out the door
