"ugh I wish I was still on there to be able to do something" Dele complained
"I know but we can't risk your thigh, especially when we're getting through to the quarters" I winked
"we're not through yet" Raheem sighed
"but we will, Rashy's got them fresh legs surely he'll do something" I said
"Lils theres a minute of extra time left it's definitely going to penalties" Kyle pointed out
"well we'll win them, Jords is amazing at penalties" I smiled
"but we're England" Dele frowned
"but we're different, it's coming home guys be positive!" I exclaimed
"Lilly come here a second" Steve shouted
"what's up?" I asked him as I walked over to Steve and Gareth
"you need to chat to the boys in the huddle before the penalties, you're so positive we need to pass that onto them" Gareth explained
"of course, they need to believe in themselves" I chuckled
"alright who is up for a pen?" Gareth asked the boys and they all put their hands up "perfect, H first, then Marcus, Hendo, Kieran and Eric are the five, I'm just gonna leave Lils to do the talking now"
"yeah I mean obviously I can't tell you anything really useful cos we all know I've got no idea what it's like" I giggled "but just believe in yourself boys, I've seen you bang in penalty after penalty so you can do it, don't let the past affect your mindsets okay"
"oh and I've told everyone I know it's coming home so don't let me down" I added which made all the boys laugh
"Lils come back" Gareth shouted to me as I starting walking back to the bench
"what?" I asked
"you're standing in the line with us, come on" he told me
"oh right I didn't realise I did too" I laughed standing in between Ruben and Trent
"light work" I smiled when Harry scored
"that's my Rashy!" I giggled when Marcus scored
"oh Hendo" I sighed when he missed
"come on then!" I exclaimed when they missed
"yes Trips" I squealed when Kieran scored
"Pickford you beauty" I laughed when he saved it
"ERICCC!" I screamed when he scored
"they actually did it!" Gareth shouted at me
"you did it" I smiled giving him a massive hug "now go celebrate"
"I will, you go find Mia and Flynn and celebrate with them" he told me
"I was just about to, congrats Dad" I said
"wait did you just call me Dad?" he asked
"yeah I guess I did" I giggled
"c'mere" he said opening his arms for another hug
"hey you can hug me whenever you want, but you can't celebrate getting into the quarters everyday, so go" I encouraged him
"okay okay I'm going" he chuckled before running off
"Mia! Flynn!" I shouted to grab their attention
"oh my god can you believe it!" she squealed
"it's crazy isn't it" I replied
"we are so going out to celebrate tonight" Flynn smiled
"um I think you'll find you're still 15 mister" Mia pointed out
"yeah but I always find a way" he winked
"not with mum and dad around you won't" she laughed
"hey girls go get yourselves dressed up you're going out" Gareth announced
"all of us?" Mia asked
"no just the boys and you two, I wouldn't want to ruin the fun" he chuckled
"okay we'll head back to the hotel now" I smiled
"I wonder why the partners aren't coming" Mia said as we walked out
"hey I'm not complaining" I giggled
"just because you feel awkward around Lucia" she said rolling her eyes
"how can I not? she definitely hates me" I frowned
"well I have a feeling she won't be around for much longer" she smirked
"don't be ridiculous" I sighed
"I'm serious! there's no way that Marcus will stay with her for much longer when you're around" she told me
"Mia stop getting my hopes up for God's sake, he's not just gonna break up with Lucia to get with me" I objected
"okay okay I'll stop, lets just have a party and forget all about it tonight" she proposed
"sounds good to me" I smiled
