Summer Nights

Today was Friday.
I still hadn't heard from Jesse and I started to get really worried.
Grayson told me not to worry.
"Joey!" I yelled.
"Yes?" He asked.
"Your going to the store with me!" I said.
"Okay, Townes wants to know if they can come over at like 8." He said putting his phone in his pocket.
"9:30." I said.
"Alright." He said.
"Go ask the boys what they want." I said.
We both stared at each other for a while.
"Naw." We both said and walked out the house.
"So what we watching tonight?" I asked.
"Give me the Aux, you'll see." He smirked.
I rolled my eyes and smiled. Then I handed him the Aux.
He played "summer nights" from grease.
"You know me well Harp." I said.
"You know it Jones." He winked.
Over the pass few days I started to like Joey more.
Maybe like 15% now.
Of course the boys had a heart attack when I told them and they won't stop bugging me.
"What's on your Mind?" He asked.
"Nothing." I said quickly.
"C'mon Brooklyn this is starting to get really annoying." He said.
"What's getting annoying?" I asked acting like I didn't know.
"You and the boys keeping this secret! What is it!?" He asked.
"I really can't tell you Joey and you know that. It's better for both of us." I said putting the car in park.
"Is it though?" He said.
"Yes. It is." I said.
We sat there in silence. I think that meant we just had an argument.
"We can't do this. We haven't argued since third grade. We should keep it like that. Promise me we won't argue over stupid things?" I asked putting out my pinky.
"Alright idiot." He said taking my pinky.
We both got out of the car and grabbed a cart.
"What are we buying." I asked as we entered the store.
"Snacks." He said.
We went to the candy aisle and grabbed a lot of candy.
Then we grabbed a lot of chips.
Then drinks.
Then pillows.
Then covers.
"That will be $800." The lady at the cashier said.
Joeys jaw dropped.
"Here you go, keep the change." I smiled.
We grabbed the bags and left.
"It always amazes me how you spend money like that." Joey said.
"Here you go sir." I said giving a homeless man $100.
"What was that Joey?" I asked.
"I love you." He said kissing my forehead.
"Love you too stupid." I said smirking.
"I'll drive." He said.
I got in the passenger seat and looked at my phone

Gray 🖤🏁: so I'm guessing that means "you guys are so annoying but I love you too!"

"How do we live with these boys." I sighed.
"Good question." Joey said which caused me to chuckle.
We arrived at the house and I went up to my room.
I layed on my bed and stared at the ring Jesse gave me.
"Please tell me he's okay god." I whispered to myself over and over again.
"He's okay, don't stress yourself." Jonah said plopping on my bed.
"I know." I said looking down.
"Wanna talk to our moms?" He asked which made my face light up.
Mine and Jonah's favorite thing to do together was to talk to our moms.
"Hi Mrs. Jones!" Jonah said.
"Hi Mrs. Knight!" I said.
We both sat there and talked to our moms.
"I love you." Jonah said to me.
"Love you too Knight." I said leaning on his shoulder.
"Move over!" Joey said sitting next to me.
"There about to be here." Joey said.
"We should probably go set out everything." Jonah said.
We went downstairs and took about 15 minutes to set everything up.
"Don't even think about putting that there." I said pointing at Ashton.
"Fine." He said moving the candle.
"I'll get it!" I said running to the door as soon as it rung.
"Ready!?" Brielle asked as I opened the door.
"Always!" I said hugging each one of them.
I had to hug Townes cause Joey was there.
Did I want to? No.
I wanted to drag her.
Could I? Nope.
Life sucks sometimes.
"So what are we watching tonight babe?" Townes asked going up to Joey.
I rolled my eyes and the boys laughed.
"We're watching Grease, Joey and Brooklyn's favorite movie." Grayson said trying to make Townes jealous.
"Oh. Nice." She said.
