A dark side, yes, everyone has one; a dark shadow that lurks behind their back screaming and tortuing their hearts knowing that one day the misty smoke wil escape in fron of them at there lowest point. Selena's pupils dilated staring at her mothers bloody bodym wrist ooring out blod and a steak knife in the other,

time felt as if in slow motion, selena jolted towards her mother and sgarted screaming

"mom! wake up mom!'

lauren was int he corner screaming, they needed help

as abigails blood was pouring over the whie carpet, seemded to be absorbing the room than the oppostie; selena samshed her hand on the czrpet and grabbed her cell phone and dialed 911

" 911 whats your emergency?" a concerned smoth voice answere

stuterin selena spat out while holding pressureto her tohers arteries,

" yes h-hello, my mom just cut herself and now she sbleeding terribly please come soon!" she eneded it off wiht a scream and dropped the cell phone, hoe could thi shave happend

lauren ran up beside selena and started tugging her hai r" is momma gonna be okay?"tears started welling up in luarens eyes

" i- i dont know laruen rthe doctors are coming okay? d- dont panic go upstaire and wash off."

' mom...' selena whispered, ' dont leave me please.'

the ambulance couldnt come sooner, selenas breath was blown out

at the hospital,selena sat next to her mother, listenting to ht ebeep beep beep of the heart monitor, watching doctors and nurse sruoond her, knees cruhnched in hand on her foreha with laurend bey her side, th edocter comes out of tehe white fresh room " Selena Sterling?" selena and lauren jumped up and out of breath they ran towards the docoter the docter just saterd nto theri souls " you mother is okay, her blood level is back to normal/" i saigh of relive came form selena and lauren squeezed selenas hadn athe word 'okay'

selena gasped ' thak you doctor, do you know wat has happend?'

the doctor sat the both down and looked deep into their eyes ' your mother has records of being a schizophrenic, she hasnt had an otbreak inyears.'

selena just gasped. but as long as he rmother was alive, sh was alright

That seemed extremely odd for selena, having her mother seem helpless to her own defense. Selena looked deeply into her mothers eyes..

" mom?"

Abigail turned her cheek slightly towards Selena

"Yes sweetie?" Her voice was cracked a d damaged

Selena gulped and took a deep breathe holding concern in her face she leaned over her mother

"Mom, do you remember doing this to yourself?"

Abigail's eyes seem to look through Selena's soul, then looked away, and slowly drifted her eyes to the scrollingas her scratchy brown hair rolled down her chest. Selena tried again with more force in her voice

"Mom! Do you remember?"

Selena spoke louder jnt her mother liked at her reh he face perfectly still

"No "

A man in a sleek white coat opened the pale green door, staring at Selena with his tired eyes,

"I'm sorry miss. Visiting hours are over."

Selena gulped and let go of her mothers faint, pale hand. She could make out the veins drilling deep into her flesh;countlessly pulsing in and out slowly. Selena tried to count the beats but the doctor then grabbed her arm. Selena smiled weakly and proceeded out with the doctor. Feeling her mothers breathe quicken and slowdown.

The hospital has now reached the silent time. Where Selena was ushers out to the waiting room. It was awkwardly silent for a hospital; but that wasn't too unusual for a Monday night in kelowna. All Selena could see was an old weathered recipes topmost ; tired and typing on a dusty Mac keyboard.

****Selena was then forced out of the office and she snuck into files and the she sees that's her brother has had a case before ...... But no one ever knew and she was in another town , Kansas wen her mother told her she never left or lived in this village all of her life
