Chapter 16: Our Enemy

Blue's POV

2 Years Later

"Again!" Grandpa yelled. I'm getting sick of this training. All this one two- one two punch shit and kick and punch. "Blue get your mind in the game!" he shouted again. I swear, this old man can be an alarm clock with his voice.

"I'm tired. I need a break. This is killing me and I'm sweating like I'm refilling a giant swimming pool. Please!" I begged Grandpa. He just rolled his eyes and I just cursed a lot of profanities under my breath.

"You need to be quick in every way you can when you are fighting. You won't know what being you'll cross path with when you're in war. The most effective way in confusing your enemy is your stance and your position. Being in a low stance is kinda tricky especially when you don't know what position you are using. You should know what foot you would use faster, when you're in that stance. If you used the wrong foot, there's a high chance that you'll break it or get a fracture," Grandpa said. I listened carefully even though I'm dying to take a shower and sleep for a few years. "What's the lowest position you can do?"

I dropped to the ground like my Tom Holland in Spider Man. He's a hotty by the way. I spread my left leg and bent down while my right hand is supporting my weight in front. "Like this," I told Grandpa.

"That's good but how will you escape an attack from above?" he asked then swung his fist and I moved to the right but I end up diving my face forward. "Really stupid move, Blue."

"No shit," I said while rubbing my forehead. That dive was painful.

"You should have used your right leg to move to the left and swing a hill kick to the opponents head or land a straight punch on the rib. So that the enemy will have a hard time catching its breath then you'll have the opportunity to land another blow or use your magic," he explained. "Do it again. This time use your whole body to move, not just a part of it."

I drop myself again and wait for Grandpa's attack. He kicked his right leg but I blocked it and held his foot then twisted my hips to move my left leg and take down his frame, face first.

"That's a good strategy but please don't be too harsh on your old Grandpa," he said while standing up.

I just laughed, "Come on, Grandpa. You're not that old, you fought a bull last year. So cut the bullshit! Get it?" I asked. That was a great pun right? No?

"Oh shut it, young lady. You'll experience this when you encounter your first century," he said and took his water bottle. "Let's get you a fighter tomorrow."

"Really?!" I asked. Now we're talking! I'm gonna beat the shit out of that guy tomorrow. "So, who's the lucky guy?" I grinned.

"That lucky guy is my loyal soldier. He's new and all but he's competitive and really smart. He's going to be a tough one, Blue. You sure you're up for it?" I nodded. Then he continued, "Like I said, he's new but it doesn't mean that he don't know how to fight. And boy, I tell you, he's really good at it. He's loyal to me since the beginning of his work. And I also asked your Grandma to read his future in case he's a traitor, turns out he's the important guy I need to help you."

"So, you mean he's the guy who will help me?" he nodded. "And the guy who will spar with me tomorrow?" he nodded. "And also the guy who I will be seeing every time, starting tomorrow?" he nodded again.

"He's name is Souvar. Age 20 and a warrior. He knows martial arts, boxing, kendo, Muay-Thai, taekwondo, judo, blah blah blah. Yeah those things. So, the obvious thing here is that he knows a lot of way to fight. You need to memorize all the things he knows and how he does it. This will be your test tomorrow and when I get back I'm gonna check your progress. Is that clear to you, Blue?" he said.

"Yes, Grandpa Sir!" he laughed at me while I smiled.

"Good. Now let's clean up and get some shut eye. You're Grandma is yelling inside my head, summoning me."

"Eww, Grandpa! You still do that with Grandma?!" he rolled his eyes at me.

"Oh come on, Blue! I'm not that old. And plus, you're Grandma is getting really horny this last few years. I'm not complaining," he shrugged and I just gagged at the disgusting talk we are having. "I'm just giving her what she wants, no biggy."

"Yeah, sure. Welp, I'm going to get clean now and maybe check up on Clara. She's having nightmares again," I said and went off to take a shower. Clara was staying here in Toronto for almost two years now. She got beat up when she first came here and I blamed myself for that. She's only a kid who wants to be with me all the time, who seeks comfort with another girl and talk about stuff that interests both of us but due to my selfishness, I ran away from her. From her brother. The man who I'm tied up to, for the rest of my life.

And I can't even see him.

....

Morning came and I woke up at a screaming Clara beside me. She was screaming so loud and I don't even know what to do.

"Clara, sweety, it's okay. I'm here and I'm not gonna leave you behind. It's ok sweetheart. Blue is here, I'm here," I quickly said to her while caressing her in my arms. She wriggled and continued to scream. I held her tightly until she calmed down and slowly opened her eyes. "It's okay, sweety. It was just a bad bad dream. It's alright, I'm here."

"Blue, he's coming," she whispered.

"Who's coming?" I asked. My curiosity is filling the air and I know this is not a good sign. "Tell me, Clara. Who is coming?"

And very slowly she said, "Our enemy."
