Akari was left on the footsteps of a temple when she was a baby. The monks took her in and raised her as their own. When they realized she was a Gifted, they praised her because of her ability. She had the power to transform into a nine-tailed fox, a deity that was respected.

Then, when she grew up at the age of eighteen, she left the temple to find a place of her own. She loved the monks, but she wanted to be independent and truly experience the world on her own.

However, she fell into the hands of Dazai, a man who had a peculiar love for beautiful women and suicide. When he laid eyes on her, he approached her and asked if she wanted to participate in a double-suicide with him.

To that, she responded with, "Sure! Oh, but would you be willing to wait a few years? At max, it would be five years. You see, I've just left my temple, yearning to experience the world."
