Kurt smiles politely to the blonde boy and the boy smiles back with the brightest smile Kurt has ever seen.

“Hi Kurt. What’s up?” Jeff says.

“Are you going to sit here? I’ll get us some ice cream,” Blaine whispers to Kurt before he walks to the front of the shop. All the other boys already have their ice creams. Kurt sits down on the empty chair next to Jeff.

“So you go to McKinley? Is it fun there? My parents initially wanted to send me to that school, but then they enrolled me to Dalton.” Jeff’s voice sounds angelic and soft.

“It’s not too bad,” Kurt says almost automatically. “I mean; I have my friends from the Glee club. I don’t know how it would be if I didn’t had the Glee club.” Blaine comes back and places a cup of frozen yoghurt in front of Kurt and sits down opposite the brunette and the blonde. “Our school has a pretty weird policy about bullying, which might be because the creepy cheerleading coach is the biggest bully if them all. Before Glee club it was way worse. I used to get tossed into dumpsters by football players.”

“No fucking way,” Jeff breaths out. Kurt nods sadly.

“Glee club changed everything. Football players actually started joining our little ‘nerd group’. Most of the bullying has stopped. Or at least I’m not being tossed in dumpsters anymore,” Kurt says. He tries to laugh but it comes out pained and strangled.

“Most of it stopped?” Blaine asks. “What about the rest?”

“Well there still is this one guy… Karofsky. He just doesn’t seem to like me.”

“What does he do?” Jeff asks forcefully and he looks mad.

“He pushes me when he sees me in the hallway. He basically shoves me into the lockers every single day and just yells offensive things to me,” Kurt’s voice keeps getting softer but he’s sure the other boys heard exactly what he said.

“No way! You can’t stay there Kurt,” Jeff practically screams.

“It’s not like I can pay for Dalton either.”

“I wish there was a way I could help you,” Jeff says softly and he looks genuinely hurt.

Maybe Jeff isn’t that bad. At all.

-

The boys were having a good time at the ice cream shop and it’s around the midnight when they leave. Blaine insists on driving Kurt back home, even though Kurt kept saying he could as well just get a cab. And so Blaine, Kurt and Jeff are in Blaine’s car.

“Jeff, I’m pretty sure it’s time for you to get your own car. I swear to god they will kick you out of the Warblers if you keep asking us for rides all the time, it’s so bloody annoying,” Blaine mumbles as he drives to Jeff’s house. Jeff just flashes the boy one of his mind blowing smiles. Jeff sits shotgun which means that Kurt is sitting alone in the backseat. He feels like a little kid, sitting in the backseat while his parents discuss ‘adult stuff’. Jeff and Blaine are talking about homework assignments and teachers and Kurt can’t help but feel left out. After a little while they arrive at Jeff’s house.

“Bye Kurt,” Jeff says with an astonishing smile before he steps out of the car. Blaine walks him to his door where they talk a little bit before they say their goodbyes. They hug each other tightly and Kurt feels a tiny bit jealous. Jeff waves at Kurt once more before he walks into his house.

“Are you going to stay in the backseat because that will just be weird, you know,” Blaine says when he returns at the car.

“Oh right.” Kurt quickly gets out of the car and sits down on the spot where Jeff just sat.

“Did you have a good time tonight?” Blaine rests his palms against the steering wheel and takes a turn towards the main road.

“It was fun. Those guys are all very nice, so that’s a good thing.”

“And Jeff?”

“He’s lovely,” Kurt says with a bit of hesitation, not sure why he got asked that.

“He is such a character,” Blaine says with a smile on his face. “He is so curious and greedy but the lad has got a heart of gold. He’s a great singer too. Voice of an angel and dance moves like he is Michael Jackson himself.

“He sounds like he is the jackpot,” Kurt says softly.

How am I supposed to compare to that’, Kurt thinks to himself. ‘Jeff is pretty, no, Jeff is stunning. He has the nicest smile that can easily make your heart melt. With his beachy blonde hair that’s casually swept across his forehead. His beautiful sparkling eyes. He also goes to Dalton which means he know exactly what Blaine is going through’.

“Do you want to hang out tomorrow?” Blaine ask when they arrive at Kurt’s house. “You can come to my house and we can just listen to music.”

“Sure,” Kurt smiles. “Thanks for the ride.”

“Don’t worry about it.” Blaine winks at Kurt in a way that makes him blush.

-

“What am I supposed to wear…” Kurt mumbles to himself as he paces the room. He is ‘just going to hang out’ with Blaine and the others, but for some reason he feels self-conscious about his wardrobe. “What would be good enough?”

“Kurt?” Eleanor’s voice sounds from outside his room before she steps into his room. “What are you doing?” She lets out a laughter when she sees all the clothes lying on the floor.

“I don’t know what to wear,” Kurt breaths out.

“Just put on something casual and you’ll be fine. It would be weird if you dressed up fancy if you’re just going to hang out with the Warblers at Blaine’s house.”

“Have you even seen Blaine? He wears bowties Eleanor, and fancy polo’s.” Eleanor giggles and looks down at the mess on the floor, which basically covers the entire floor.

“This.” She holds up a red plaid short sleeved button up with and a pair of black skinny jeans. “Pair it with some combat boots and you’re sorted. The short sleeves will accentuate your biceps and skinny jeans always look great on you.”

“I don’t know what I would do without you.” Kurt launches himself towards and hugs his sister tightly.

-

Kurt takes a deep breath before he knocks on the big wooden door. He is nervous to be here, at Blaine’s house. It’s different from being at the ice cream shop. He wonders where the other Warblers parked their car  because there are none in front of the house, except for Kurt’s. The red painted wooden door swings open.

“Hey,” Blaine smiles brightly when he sees the other lad. “Come in.”

“Hi.” Kurt can’t help but smile just as wide. He steps inside. “Where are the others?”

“Others? You mean the Warblers? They are not here.”
