CHAPTER THREE

The next morning, Emily was up and packing as early as eight o'clock seeing as she just brushed off packing and said she'd do it before she left in the morning. But, now she wished that she had packed last night because it seemed like she couldn't find anything that she need to pack.

Emily was getting beyond frustrated, so she took a seat on her bed in front of her suitcase and fell back on it, her straightener jamming into her back, making her wince and let out a small moan of pain mixed with surprise. She sat up and glared down at her straightener, hating more than she thought she ever could at the moment.

Emily was pulled out of her stare down with her straightener by her dad knocking on the door of her bedroom before entering her room, which had scattered clothes all over the floor. Even Emily's chair that went to her makeup vanity was lying on its side, clearly a poor victim of Emily's frustration.

George's lips went into a straight line, unimpressed by the mess. He then looked over at Emily who was awaiting for him to state the reason why he had came into her room. "We leave in ten minutes. I suggest you hurry." Was all he said before walking out of her room and slightly closing the door before swinging it open again to remind Emily to pack her dress.

"Don't forget your dress, sweetheart." George pointed over at the dress which was hanging on Emily's closet door, completely untouched since last night when she hung it up there after getting home from buying it. Emily's eyes widened. If her dad hadn't mentioned the dress, she would've completely forgot about it and left it there.

Emily flashed her dad a forced smile, "I wasn't. I was actually about to pack it right now." She lied. George knew this, but he just walked out of her room laughing to himself.

Just as George had said, they were all packed up and ready to go within thirty minutes. They pulled off after Alpha Jacob and Carol with Toby and his wife right behind them. The rest of the pack would be leaving later because the Rulers of the pack were requested to arrive earlier than the actual pack itself.

When they had arrived, they all parked their cars and got out, bringing their luggage with them. Emily couldn't believe the sight in front of her. They were at the pack house, and Emily took notice of how much larger and nicer their pack house was compared to hers. She was captured by the towering so-called-pack-house before her.

Emily, her parents, the Alpha and Luna, and the Gama and his wife all approached the front door before Alpha Jacob rung the doorbell. It was opened by an older man, probably around George's age, maybe a little younger. It didn't take a genius to figure out that he was either a Beta or Gama from the waves of power rolling off of him in waves.

"Hello, Alpha Jacob. It's nice to meet you and your co-rulers for the first time. My name is Chris, I'm the Beta. And who might you all be?" Chris greeted, a smile on his face. Emily couldn't tell if it was fake or not, which made her not like him very much.

Jacob smiled, "This is my wife, Carol. That's the Beta, George, and his wife, Eliza, and his daughter, Emily. And behind them is our Gama, Toby and his wife, Camille." He pointed at each and every one of them as he spoke with authority dripping from his voice.

"Well, it's nice to meet you all. Please, follow me so I can show you where you'll be staying while you're here." Chris said robotically, almost as if he had rehearsed that exact saying multiple times.

Chris showed them to their rooms which were all on separate floors. There were four floors to the pack house, one for each age group. The first floor had the main rooms like the large living room, the kitchen, the dining room, the laundry room, the small library, and even a game room for the teens. The second floor was for the elders, which is basically sixty and up. The third floor was for the ages before sixty and after twenty-five. And the fourth floor was for children and teens, including the ages up until twenty-five.

After Emily was shown to her room, she immediately began unpacking. This time, she promised herself to do what she said she would do and not push it off to the side and say she'll do it later when she knows that she most likely won't.

She hung her clothes up in the walk-in closet and put her shoes in the cubbies that were inside the closet. She made sure to gently hang up her dress, too. It was nice, Emily thought, much nicer than her pack's pack house. Emily put her bathroom essentials in the bathroom and after she had unpacked everything, she decided to go exploring a little. She wanted to go ahead and figure out where everything was at so she wouldn't look stupid wandering around and getting lost. Chris was doing a tour later that day, but Emily couldn't wait until then.

Emily had walked through almost every room on the first floor, memorizing where everything was. She got a few curious stares from a few passing Wolves who were not in her pack, but she ignored them. She found herself wandering out to the backyard, finding herself standing in the middle of a enormous garden.

It was beautiful, to say the least. There were all types of flowers from roses to daises and tulips. Emily didn't know how they managed to get them to all grow at once, but it captivated her. Her eyes were drawn to the fairly large water fountain in the center of the garden, a stunning wolf statue with water shooting up from the ground below it.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" An unfamiliar voice asked behind Emily, startling her and making her jump slightly. She spun around to put a face on the voice and was pleasantly surprised.

The boy – who couldn't be older than twenty – had bright blue eyes and a well defined jaw. His muscles bulged out of his v-neck and Emily couldn't help but stare. She finally noticed what she was doing and blinked herself out of her momentarily admiring state.

"Uh, y-yeah. It's gorgeous, like no garden I've ever seen before. Who tends to this garden?" Emily asked, curiosity getting the best of her. The boy could hear the adoration in her voice as she spoke and he couldn't help but like it – her voice, that is.

The boy just chuckled, "Johanna Bennett, Carlos' sister. What's your name?" The boy asked, crossing his arms over his chest as Emily's eyes never left the flowers that seemed to never end at any point other than where her eyes stopped seeing.

Emily finally brought her eyes back to the boy's and she said, "My name is Emily. What's yours?"

"Greyson," Greyson stuck out his hand without Emily realizing it. She just nodded for a few seconds before noticing his hand, which was out for her to shake. She finally shook his hand as her cheeks burned red with embarrassment.

Greyson's eyebrows raised when his hand touched hers. He felt power radiating off of her, more than normal for a young she-wolf like Emily. So, that led him to questioning, "Who is your mate? You've got quite the amount of power coming off of you." They then released their hands.

Greyson's question and statement took Emily by surprise. Power? What power? And a mate? Emily shot Greyson a confused look, "I haven't met my mate yet, I'm only sixteen. And maybe you're feeling that power because I'm a Beta's daughter." Emily guessed, having absolutely no idea any other way she'd have power coming off of her.

"No, if it was because of you being the Beta's daughter, then I wouldn't have even felt it. I know from experience." Greyson replied, quite intrigued by this Emily who stood before him.

Emily shrugged, "Then, I have no idea why."

Greyson nodded before saying, "Dinner is almost ready. I should get going. It was nice meeting you, Emily. I hope to see you again soon." Greyson waved while smiling before heading back inside to God knows where. Emily let out a puff of air, already getting a little bored of this place. But, what Greyson had just said to her made her curious as to what kind of power he was talking about.
