Chapter One

Two weeks before Samantha had that traumatic experience just like a nightmare.

Monday, eight o’clock in the morning. She was adjusting the neck tie of her uniform while looking at the mirror. Next, she combed her hair and applied makeup to her face.

“Baby, breakfast is ready.”

“Okay mom, I’ll be there,” she responds with a very happy smile in her face.

It’s like she was super excited to go to school. And when she was done with her makeover, she took her shoulder bag and left the room.

“Good morning mom,” she kissed her mom’s cheek.

“Good morning, baby. Oh sit there, eat it.”

“Wow, my favorite.”

Her mother smiled, “Of course baby.”

“Mmm, thanks mom,” she hugged her mom’s back.

“Hmm, you’re really sweet huh?” Then she smiled, “You’re always welcome, baby. Anything for you.”

“Yes,” she smiled also.

Then she already sat down. Her mother looked at her as she sat down on the other side of the table accross her daughter.

“Ah baby?”

“Yes?” she replied without looking at her because she’s busy on her food.

“Ahm, I have something to tell you my dear.”

“Okay, so what was that?” she sliced the pancake.

“Ahm, my boss called me earlier. He said that he will be having a out of town business trip in London and they need me to be there. That’s why baby—”

She stopped and became serious. And the she looked at her.

“Baby, I will be gone for only two weeks. And then after two weeks I’ll be home again.”

“Mom, haven’t we talked about this yet?”

“I know baby but I can’t—”

“Mom.”

“Baby please, I hope you understand. I need to do this for you. I need to get some money for your tuition fee. And—”

“But we already have money for that. Let's just use it. Don’t go.”

“But, baby, I have to pay the rent here as well. Then the electric bills and other expenses. Baby, we still have less money to pay for all the expenses. So please my dear, let me go to London. I badly need to accept this job.”

“So how about me? You will leave me again?”

“Baby I’m so sorry. I promise this will be the last time that I will leave. And then after this, I will never accept another job again away from you. This is the last time baby. So please allow me.”

She turned her head down and looked at her again.

“You always say that. You know what mom, I am really tired of this. I gotta go before I got late in school.”

“Baby.”

She stood up immediately and get her shoulder bag then walked away.

“Samantha,” her mother sighed.
