Stephanie's House
After suffering an injury at the hands of my brother, Shane, I have been spending time with my sister, Stephanie. Stephanie knows that I'm still very pissed at Shane. Ever since he and I got into a huge argument, I threw him out of my life.
Anyway, Stephanie, Paul and I were hanging out when, all of a sudden, Stephanie started screaming in pain. Paul jumped up.
"Come on Steph!" Paul yelled, "Mo, you drive!"
Paul threw the keys towards me. We rushed out the door and into the car.
...
I was in the lobby at the hospital where Stephanie was giving birth. I was looking at the floor and shaking my leg before I heard the door opened.
"Mo," dad called.
I looked up and saw my dad and Shane.
"Dad," I replied.
"How's Steph?"
"I haven't heard anything yet."
Nearly an hour had passed before we heard anything. That's when Shane decided to finally talk to me.
"Modesty, can we talk?" He asked.
"Depends," I replied.
"Please?"
I sighed and got up. Shane and I went around the corner.
"Look Modesty. I'm sorry for what I said last month."
"That's a start."
"I guess I'm not ready to let you go again."
"Shane-
"Listen. You're my baby sister. I don't think I'll never be ready to let you go."
I smiled.
"I guess that I overreacted."
"No, you didn't. You had every right to act like that. You two are made for each other. And I'm not gonna get in the way."
"You promise?"
"Promise."
Not even a few minutes later, dad came around the corner.
"Hey come meet your niece," he said.
We followed dad to the room where they were at. When we walked in, we saw Stephanie holding a tiny baby.
"She's beautiful," I said, "What's her name."
"Paul," Stephanie called.
Paul smiled and said "Aurora Rose."
