Coming Home Champagne & "Eye-Opening" Experiences

Nathan's POV:

Kayla had given birth just a day ago and was breast feeding the twins, one on each side. The nurses had shown her how and said she was a natural born mother. I watched in complete awe of the three biggest parts of my life. Kayla looked so happy and so at peace. She giggled,

"Wow you two eat like your grandpa Ray." She said. She pulled them away from her as they both finished and looked over at me,

"Help please?" She asked. I nodded and took Alexander. We burped the two and the nurses put them back in the little bed. Kayla moved in her hospital bed and patted the seat next to her. I smiled and sat down while I wrapped my arm around her shoulders. I kissed Kayla's cheek as she giggled. I smiled against her cheek,

"I can't believe we did it..." Kayla said quietly. I looked at the babies along with her and smiled,

"Neither can I." I whispered. I turned her head a bit and lifted her chin up. We looked into each others eyes before we shared a sweet kiss. Dr. Chang came through the curtain and smiled warmly at us,

"Good news you two the babies are ok'd to go home!" She said. She left and we packed up our things and the twins and headed off home.

~~~~20 Minutes Later~~~~

Still Nathan's POV:

We arrived in the driveway and I walked out of the car and opened Kayla's door so she was able to get out. We opened the back doors and grabbed the babies. We brought them both inside and set them in their cribs without waking either of them up. Kayla stayed with the babies while I grabbed everything out of the car.

I turned the washer on and put everything else away before throwing our lights in, pouring the detergent in and shutting the lid of the washer. I walked into the nursery and saw Kayla fixing Alexander's blanket. I wrapped my arms aroun her waist and leant my head on her shoulder. Kayla turned her head to the side and I pecked her lips. Kayla giggled. She gasped,

"Let's make cookie dough!" She said giddily. I smiled,

"Ok, baby." I chuckled. We walked into the kitchen. We pulled out the following:

•1 teaspoon baking soda

•1 teaspoon salt

•1 cup (2 sticks) butter

•3/4 cup granulated sugar

•3/4 cup packed brown sugar

•1 teaspoon vanilla extract2 large eggs •2 cups chocolate chips

•1 cup chopped nuts

We mixed the dry ingredients first an then added the wet. I poured in the chocolate chips and Kayla chopped the pecans then folded those in. I grabbed two small spoons from the silver wear drawer and handed one to Kayla. Kayla sat in my lap and we started to eat little by little so we wouldn't be sick,

"What was your first impression of me when you met me?" Kayla asked. I smiled,

"I thought you were insanely adorable and very cute." I winked at her. Kayla blushed,

"Stooop..." She said. I furrowed my eyebrows and smiled,

"Stooop what?" I mimicked. She sighed,

"Being the best boyfriend ever." She said as she turned her head back to look at me. I smiled and rubbed our noses together. There was a knock at the door. I furrowed my eyebrows,

"Who could that be?" I asked. Kayla shrugged. I stood up and jogged to the door. I opened the door and there stood the boys and girls with flowers and a bottle of champagne,

"CONGRATULATIONS!" They yelled. I panicked and then heard screaming. The babies...oh dear. I groaned,

"The babies are up." I said. I rushed them in and shut the door then ran to the nursery to help Kayla. When I walked into the nursery Kayla was holding a crying Anna-Grace. I walke to Alexander's crib and picked him up. We soon put the twins back to sleep.

Kayla and I walked back into to the living room where everyone was sat. Nareesha started to apologize,

"It's alright guys, they went right back to sleep." Kayla reassured them. I nodded,

"Plus we'll be up all night doing that for a while so it was just like practice." I shrugged. They nodded. Kayla pulled out wine glasses from the glass cupboard. She set one I front of each of us. As Tom tried to pop the cork Kayla walked by me and kissed my cheek,

"I'm gonna go change." She said. The went to our bedroom and shut door. Tom was still struggling to open the bottle as the rest of us laughed. Kayla came out of the bedroom in a white, oversized sweater that ended right below her bum with a black heart on it and thigh high black stockings.

She sat in my lap when she saw Tom struggling and giggled,

"Here...." She took the bottle from Tom and easily popped off the cork and caught it. Tom jokingly glared at her as she giggled and handed the bottle to him. Tom pured everyone's glass half full and everyone took a sip.

Kayla sat sideways in my lap and rubbed the ends of her hair against my neck. I chuckled,

"You're so cute." I said. I kissed her cheek,

"No you are." She said back.

"No you are." I said.

"No you are." Kayla said. Jay groaned teasingly,

"Enough you two." He laughed. Kayla stuck her tongue out at him and everyone laughed. Kayla giggled and rested her head on my chest. Then we heard crying come from the nursery. Kayla looked up at the clock,

"It's the babies' feeding time." She said. Kayla got up and and walked into the nursery and came out with Anna-Grace in one arm and a bottle of milk in te other. She extended Anna-Grace to me and I took her in my arms,

"Will you feed her please?" She asked politely. I nodded,

"Of course baby." I said. I supported Anna's head and started to feed her. Kayla came out of the nursery with a blanket over herself and Alexander, her arm and shoulder supporting his head as she sat down next to me on the sofa,

"Wow, both of you are really good at this, are you sure neither of you have children that we don't know about?" Max teased. Everyone laughed. The twins finished feeding and Kayla carefully laid Alexander in her lap, her knee supporting his head while the fixed herself quickly and started to burp him.

Everyone was still able to talk to each other while we fed the babies, Anna was a little bit of a slower eater than Alexander so she finished a couple minutes after Alexander burped. I set her bottle on the coffee table and carefully patted Anna's back to burp her. After she did I laid her on the sofa carefully. Since Kayla and I were sat on each end of the twins, we could see both of them.

And then...both of them opened their eyes wide. We both gasped,

"What?" Siva asked. Kayla and I smiled as our babies looked at us,

"Their eyes are open...and they're both green..." I whispered. Everyone stood behind us and looked in awe. Anna-Grace and Alexander looked at each other and slowly but surely held their little pinkies together. Kayla was already crying and at this point tears had welled up in my eyes.

Kayla and I looked at each other and smiled as we cried and held our hands together.
