That One Night

prologue

December 14th,2013.
I looked around as sipped my coffee slowly.
2 hours.It has been 2 hrs since I've been waiting for her and yet she is no where to be found.I picked up my phone and scrolled throught my messages to see if she had replied me back but no,she hadn't.10 more minutes and then I'll finally go I said to myself as I started looking around to pass my time.There was this huge board at the other end of the coffee shop having a lot of pics on it which caught my attention.
The coffee shop was almost empty.The only people there were me,the owner,the workers and a young couple sitting a table away from me.They were young probably college students I thought to myself.Apparently it was the girl's birthday and therefore the couple was here celebrating,that's what I picked up from the conversation between the waiters who were standing near me.

I looked at my watch.WHAT!!! It's been more than 10 mins.I looked outside and still there was no one.Sad. I was sad. My older sister had left home 10 yrs ago when she was 17 and  I was just 12.At that time we we're struggling financially, our bakery wasn't doing any good and dad's health was getting worse so she was our only hope.Our only hope to keep mom's  bakery alive but she left.In the end it was me and my father who kept the bakery running.It was hard but I never blamed her.I understood.Nor do I blame her now but all I want from her is to be close to me,to talk to me,to be with me like a real sister and that's why I always make plans to meet up but she never shows up.never.

My sadness turned to anger.Fine if she doesn't want I won't talk to her either I thought. I took my coat and started walking towards the door when suddenly I heard someone call.
"Hello,Excuse me but would you please take a pic for us".I turned around to see the couple standing there smiling widely at me.

"Sure" I said. Atleast someone should be happy today. I took the camera from her hand and clicked their picture.At that time some people entered the cafe who came in the pic but the couple didn't mind them.They then took the photo wrote the date on it and pinned it one the wall.
"Ohhhh so that's what the wall is for,they were memories"I said to myself.
The new group of people that came in sat at a near by table. I turned towards the door until I saw the lady among the group of people who had just entered wearing the exact same dress as me sitting on the next table with her back towards me.Well that's kinda awkward.She didn't notice me and before she could I walked outside the cafe.
As I came out immediately a chill ran down my spine,it was very cold. I was wearing a white knee length dress,it wasn't my dress though theres no way I could afford anything this expensive.I borrowed it from my dad's customer who had a daughter my age and when I told her the reason I was borrowing it for she was more than willing to help but...I sighed as I walked to the car.

It had snowed heavily the previous night,the entire road was covered with snow.I started the engine and slowly started driving towards my house.The anger I had some time back  disappeared and I relaxed.Maybe I'll try calling her again for all I want is my family to be complete again.I drove slowly humming along to the song on the radio.Seoul looked beautiful, It was already half past nine,the lights were one and were shining brightly on the white snow.
In order to reach home early I decided to take a shortcut.The street was quite and there was not a single soul in sight. I was calmly driving when my phone began to rang.Controlling the wheel with one hand I used my other to pick the phone but instead it dropped on the car floor.I picked it up but the moment I looked up a woman suddenly came running in front of the car.I immediately turned the car but because of the slippery snowy roads the car turned around in circles before hitting the wall nearby and coming to a stop.

I quickly got out from the car to check the woman but she was no longer there ,I ran at the spot where I  saw her and began looking around thinking she might have got hurt but she was not there,instead I saw her running away .That's strange but considering how fast she is running I'm sure she's okay.

Feeling relieved I went to the car and drove back home. I was scared at first because of the accident,my car got a big dent to but the best day feeling as calm as ever I took the car  to get it repaired and went  on with my usual life and thus two days went by smoothly like nothing had happened but on the third day I was greeted with police on my doorsteps early morning.
"Are you miss Song Ha Eun?"
Feeling nervous I simply replied yes.
"Arrest her" the male cop said to the two female officers as they started dragging me towards the car and cuffing me hands.
"Wait What Why Why For what???Why are you arresting me??"I asked  trying hard to break free from their hold.
"You are being arrested for the murder of Miss Kang Seo Ah."
