A tense atmosphere makes the air of Konoha almost suffocating, the lack of familiarity between strangers calling for less action and more stoic silence as people, shinobi and civilians alike, brush each other off, focused on the main event.

The winds churn with anticipation as they blow fantastically around the Chunin Exams Arena of Konohagakure, a massive building in the midst of all else.

An icon.

Naruto walks into the arena and is immediately ushered into his designated seat, alongside the other passers of the initial preliminary round.

His eyes fleetingly observe his opponents. Having been seated at the backmost row, he has free reign to spy discreetly, like a hawk.

Pulling out one of the event leaflets from thin air, he goes over the match-ups once more.

Chunin Exam Finals Leaflet
Match 1: Naruto Uzumaki versus Neji Hyuga.
Match 2: Sasuke Uchiha versus Gaara.
Match 3: Kankuro versus Shino Aburame.
Match 4: Temari versus Kiba Inuzuka.

Looking upwards, Naruto is relatively pleased to see all participants present.

Even... Sasuke Uchiha, who had, to Naruto's relief, not inherited his sensei's lateness and... reading habits as the last Uchiha broods by himself, chin in his palm.

Naruto stares at the arena below, one that makes everything all the more interesting.

A large body of water? Brilliant, but redundant unless I use a large-scale attack. I would rather be more conservative, but thanks! Naruto thinks as he lays his eyes on the arena floor.

It is made to replicate a marsh, with puddles of muddy water littering the scene.

Naruto snorts quietly. Way to go, Konoha! Rob the paying spectators of an excellent view!

The finals commence, beginning with actions that do nothing but publicise the event, and essentially, boast a biased perspective on the finals being hosted in Konoha, with the proctor, a seasoned jonin, speaking on the microphone in front of hundreds from all walks of life.

Naruto yawns, opting to disappear from sight and listen without care.

"—and for the first match, we have Naruto Uzumaki versus Neji Hyuga!" The aforementioned proctor finishes, stepping back with his hands raised, pumping the limbs up and down for dramatic feature, receiving a mixed bag of cheers and boos from the audience, though many stay silent, not exactly thrilled for the "festivities".

Naruto calmly reappears in front of the railing, the seating having been raised highly as to not obstruct the fights below, and also allowing birdseye views to become a norm, though that isn't necessarily a good thing.

He hears gasps from the audience, seeing his sudden materialisation.

He gives a glance to Neji, who walks, stoically, down the stairs with security lining it giving him a wide berth.

He smirks a devilish smirk that seems natural on his face.

"See you on the other side," he murmurs, the words heard by all nearest to him.
